The Old Folks Home

It looks like my hatch is over. One UofA Blue chick hatched. It looks like a nice blue too.

The sixth marans just hatched. I set 7 for lockdown so the ones that developed did very well.

I have some olive egger eggs and more UofA blue eggs in the incubator. It looks like 5 of the UofA eggs are good. It is harder to tell with the OE eggs because they are dark brown.

These eggs are from @1muttsfan

:hit Only one huh? That bites.

One is better than zero though.

I only ended up with 2 out of my 18 shipped (but at least 4 were busted in shipping, and then of course egg goo on other eggs  )rose comb white Leghorns. I am hoping one is the most gorgeous male ever before seen so that I can breed him to the girls I already have.

I had about 14 of each shipped--9 of the Marans were not broken. 5 of the UofA eggs were not broken.

Added: I could have made french toast with the goo in the box....

The eggs from Mary, only two were broken-one leaking and the other one very cracked up.

At least the one chick has some friends!
