The Old Folks Home

I think where I got the Rhode Island Red chicks they fed them mainly on bread.

Yesterday I drove an hour and a half away and paid $13 each for four Pearl White Leghorn chicks. Totally worth it they are beautiful and obviously well taken care of.

That is very nice!

They will go very nicely with the RIRs.

They do look very nice. Obviously much better taken care of than the RIR. Glad you rescued them, bread is not a chicken feed.

You can get an app for your smart phone or tablet--look for a snore recorder. It will record sounds when you sleep and analyze them to see if they sound line sleep apnea.

Cow butter from the store has yellow dye added to it.

I actually did the sleep test..at home. Had that apparatus attached to me at night. Not too fun, but not too bad either. It showed how I was breathing...or not..on each side I laid on. I am a tosser turner for a while until I finally get into a deep sleep. I was actually stopping breathing. Yes, either sleep on my left side, where I did best, or get a machine. I bought a machine, haven't used it yet.

How can they afford to do this?
Lost leader...... they lead with this add expecting to break even or loose a certain percent. They make their money by all the other stuff people buy when they get in the store.

I was able to sell 80 dollars an hour during a time when minimum wage was 3.00 because of lost leader sales.

Garden shop.... hanging plants came in normally priced out at five dollars for a six inch pot. We sold them for 1.00. (which was cost) Oh yeah some would buy a boat load but most would buy one or two... then Oh lookie... those pretty pots.... and the macrame hangers and my son wants a beta fish.... then there were the birds and the cages

gold fish 100 for a dollar.... and ten gallon aquariums for five dollars...... then gravel and plants and filters and water purifiers and fish food...

Angel fish the size of quarters 50 cents a piece.... normally 1.99

You can actually give away items and make a profit. Worded.... buy a complete cage setup for your parakeet and your keet is free.

Or free Turkey with 100 dollar purchase

The last couple of weeks several of the grocery stores have had a dozen large eggs 2/$1.00 this week - some have them 3/$ 1.00. Don't know if that is such a great idea with the kids out of school now- and itching to get into something.....

Lol diva, had to read that three times before I got what you meant about kids. I don't know if kids do that anymore, they don't do much of anything that doesn't involve a app.

Probably has something to do with over production. After the big AI outbreaks many bakeries couldn't get liquid eggs, really hurt their businesses. Frozen custard places had to temporarily close.
Egg farms have probably got to the point where they have over compensated and surpassed demand.
