Al probably isn't thinking 100% straight at the moment... Lots of pressure there I reccon. Remember Al, Diva can't access her emoticons anymore so she gave you a verbal hug and SCG just passed it along in emoticon language.

So sorry for your family Al... I know it sucks, and it's hard. I'm sorry for your mom, but glad that she's finally ready to admit reality. I think once the direct strain has been removed from around her, she'll be better able to see the non-reality she's been trying to maintain. I hope the Friday interview goes well and that dad doesn't have to wait too long to be accepted. How much longer before you're able to head back home to Alaska?

Diva is up and watched NCIS (original) and then Person of Interest. Thought POI was finished but, apparently one more episode next week - the real finale. It's going off the air. I forgot how good it was.

PS SCG , Diva hasn't been a cone head in quite awhile. She gave up for connections to Remulac and pursues a total addiction to ice cream instead.

Diva is up and watched NCIS (original) and then Person of Interest. Thought POI was finished but, apparently one more episode next week - the real finale. It's going off the air. I forgot how good it was.

Heh heh heh.... bought the first three seasons of NCIS..... am marathon watching it....

Never ever saw it on TV but saw a rerun about a month ago and thought..... Hmmmm I would like to see this without commercials and from the beginning.

when I am done with the first three then I thought I'd buy the next three.... then found out how many seasons they made .....

its OK though I have the full box set of Babylon five and uptill this..... I watched it about once every couple weeks.... end to end....

Binge watching started for me with Harry Potter....

It is pretty wild how vastly different each care facility is. Crazy. We found one that is really close, had high functioning old folks so my dad has people to talk to, but was still a lock down (which we need), and has big enough rooms that we can cram in a bunch of books for him, and is just barely what we can afford.

Whew.

The people from this place will come and interview my dad on Friday, see if they think he will work (depends on how ornery/probablematic he is as they will not take anyone too disruptive). Luckily the guy that runs the place fits the type of person that my dad is most likely to look at favorably (nerd in a suit), so chances are high that it will be OK.

Luckily this place wasn't super booked/backlogged and they just had two beds "free up" (depressing aint it) so we shouldn't have too long to wait... But will know on Friday for sure what the timeline is.

It was at first super hard for my mom to realize that her hopes of the future were fantasy (that my dad will suddenly grow his brain back and go back to work). But once I kept pointing out facts, and repeating the facts, it was finally clear to her that fantasy is not reality...what we have is what we have, he is NOT going to get better, and he is clearly getting worse...

It helped that two of his long time friends agreed with me, and were able to tell my mom that at this point it was very clear that he could not get better, and he can no longer work.

Anyway.... Blah....

That's all I got...
