The Old Folks Home

Any of you like the more "exotic" meat tacos? Like brain, cheek, or tongue?

Linguesa Cabeza and Tripas.... Tongue , Brain, and intestine.... Though I havent been to TJ to sample them from street carts.

Love Love Love Tripas.... had them cooked at a party at work. 90 percent of the people that worked there were Mexican so they brought in a HUGE hand pounded Copper Cauldren filled it with cleaned pork intestine and started boiling it in the morning.... By after noon the water was gone and pork fat that rendered out of the intestines took its place and they began to brown up... By quitting time they had chopped it all up and was serving Tripas tacos..... Little pico De Gallo some Celantro and slice of lime..... OH MY GAWD they were good. But so rich I couldnt eat more than about three of the street taco sized ones.

Ohh and they had Tres Leches Cake..... Three milk cake....

Quote: The Walmart near me sells cheek and tongue, so maybe someday I'll see if I can whip something up. Also have a "custom processing" facility nearby and I've been thinking about seeing what they do with their beef and lamb kidneys, 'cause DH would really like it if I made a steak and kidney pie for him.
