The Old Folks Home

It looks amazing!

-Kathy
One of my Daughter's friends came over and had a slice. When she took the first bite, her eyes rolled back and stared for a moment and then said, "Oh my God!" That is amazing!

I used my Jack Lalane Juicer to juice the strawberries. The Mousse had a very intense flavor because it is not artificial in any way. The next time we make it, we will use raspberries.

The last cheesecake had a chocolate ganache topping and it was very good too--The chocolate ganache might have been a bit too thick but who cares! I do not know if we have a picture of it but I will post it if so. That one was two weeks ago.

With all the "rich" cooking you do, how in the world do you maintain your girlish figure? I'd be breaking out door frames when attempting to squeeze through them.

I have also been on a good exercise program. I have lost 8 pounds this year since I bought a fitness tracker.

We had fish tacos in Mexico (Akumal) on our honeymoon 25 years ago. They were excellent. Not battered though. That would just be wrong.

So there is no one single way to make em.... Cilantro is is optional.. If you dont like it try using a very sharp knife to chop Cilantro It has a kind of soapy flavor if its chopped with a dull knife.... I like it in the restaurant but iI wont use it at home...

Um, cilantro is NOT optional! In fact it is what makes Pico de Gallo, Pico de Gallo! The more the better. Of course I am not one of those unfortunate people that taste soap when they eat cilantro. I can see not wanting to eat it in that case.

@perchie.girl that was how these fish tacos were made, with battered fried fish, with pico de gallo, fine shredded cabbage, sour cream. Except they threw on fresh cilantro like it was lettuce. ..

Yummy!
Baluts aren't that bad... a little salt and they tasted just like a boiled egg to me. same flavor and texture actually... I always taught my kids and their kids to try everything at least once. If you don't like it, fine, you don't have to eat it, but at least TRY it before saying "I don't like it". There are some things I wouldn't eat, just because... I'm no Andrew Zimmer. Maybe that's hypocritical, but sorry, it's all psychological. The first time I took the kids to a Japanese Steak house with the hibachi they were freaking... When it was all said and done they all ate everything put in front of them, and wanted more... despite starting out with I don't like it.

Um, just how does a balut have the same flavor and texture as a boiled egg? It is a bird that is just about ready to hatch. Bones, feathers, etc.

That is great Ron!

I lost 15 lbs when I stopped eating bread. But now I have gained 5 back.

That happens any time a food is given up. Weight goes off at first and then it goes back on.

whatever you do, do something that is maintainable. I do not diet but do eat less per serving.
