The Old Folks Home

We have been kind of looking for a 3rd vehicle to tow behind our RV when we go on trips. We need a manual transmission small vehicle.
We are not having any luck finding one around here.
Right now the only way we could tow our truck is if dh climbs under it and then we would have to tow it backwards. So that is not going to happen.

Also, can't be AWD, those can't be towed, they have to be hauled on a flatbed.

As was mentioned, not all vehicles can be towed, so do your homework. You may look into a car dolly. That is how we towed a small car behind our motor home. They are simple to load and unload, store easily, and much cheaper than another dedicated vehicle.

If you get a 4x4 PU, most/many/some have a "neutral" setting between 2x4 and 4x4 Hi/Low to release all 4 wheels so it can be towed... At least the last 3 chevy trucks I owned did. Why don't you like the jeeps? Just curious as I don't really care for the newer over priced ones. They seem more for show than any kind of off road work... May just be me...

Quote: Yeah but our colorado cannot be towed unless it is backwards. Which then the wheel base is to far back for a dolly. My dh cannot get under it and disconnect the drive shaft every time and even then we would have to flat bed tow it. So we just want a small car or truck with an manual transmission. We have been looking for several months and will keep looking till we find something for a decent price.

We have been talking about a 4x4 or a little s10. To me all the jeeps everyone I know any way has transmission problems.
My dh has trouble loading and unloading stuff out of our colorado and I think he would also have more problems with his neck and back trying to load and unload a jeep. I talked to his oldest son and he agrees with me about the loading and unloading part.

Ut-oh... when you're getting the kids involved... that's not a good sign... I always got called on any time my father got some whacked out idea, or was unable to make a decision...

Happy dance!!! The super old, highly trained, supremely excellent, ONLY LARGE ANIMAL VET WITHIN AN 8 HOUR DRIVE, actually is hobbling about again after having been in the hospital .... ... And managed to come out to my place.

He was excellent and all as always, but DANG the dude is all feeble as all get out. No way that man could do anything physical. It was even hard for him to work the syringes and a pen to fill out paperwork.......

It worked great for me since I had all three of my big boys out. They were able to manhandle the goats every which way the doc needed, I helped the doc with the syringes... -sigh-

He took the time to teach the kids how to do what he was doing... While he taught he got to sit on the truck tail gait... Which was good because walking and standing wasn't all that easy for him either.

Anyway... I got all my questions answered.... Got the correct wormer and the correct dosages for the goats, and he showed us how to inject it. Rah.

He likes the body weight of the goats (not fat or thin). He cut off an extra teat from my expensive baby goat, said her left over wounds from disbudding are healing correctly, and said the testicles on the little boy are rotting and dieing as they should.

He is also happy with the way the wounded foot on Feta Face is healing, and said we should keep on keeping on.

He also liked the way my kids have been trimming the hooves. So yeah.

In short... If he can never come out again.... We will be just fine. :D

Alaskan - what a great weight does, he have any grown up sons to take over the practice?

Oh, and while you are still listening, WHAT did you win those ribbons for at the fair? How about some transparency?
