The Old Folks Home

Latestarter --

The Victorio is a wonderful machine. It spits out the seeds and skins out one end and deposits juice and puree out another. Even more sweet is that an option is a motor to operate the whole thing, so no cranking. It also comes with accessories that allows for making salsa, juicing grapes, pureeing pumpkins. No seeds and no backaches.

I do not parboil tomatoes to slip the skins. I wash the tomatoes first, then take the stem's "navel" off and slice the tomatoes into chunks. The tomatoes I use are San Marzano, Roma, Heinz 57. (We LOVE sauce)

Unfortunately, no "Chunks" setting for tomato texture.

OK, so does this Victorio remove what happens to be my bane when it comes to the illustrious tomato? the seeds? When I do tomatoes I end up with a back ache for weeks afterwards. I par boil then peel and then de-seed, then chop up for whatever I intend to use them for. I like small chunks of tomato, I don't want all sauce/puree, but the seeds (and skins) and I, just don't get along.

Love a nice thrift/re-sale shop - be it Goodwill, the Re-Store or any little thrift store..........

@1kluckychik let bama know I finally tried grilled green tomatoes.....along with two home grown naked neck turkens soaked overnight in garlic and herb marinade, a bear loin roast drenched in bbq sauce, and zucchini and yellow squash, Mmmm good!
