Quote: The first set we got at a local hospital. When were in the waiting room I was reading some Readers Digests and one of them had a article about the first person that survived, the little girl, and then some others I didn't know about (not good statistics, but better than zero survival) after getting rabies, WOW! kinda weird reading it under the circumstances.
Really felt bad for our littler kids getting the shots, I was the biggest baby though Lol! For my weight three shots of the crappy first stuff in each thigh, ouch, my right thigh was already swelled up from a wasp sting and I was already limping.
I did kinda keep the bat, tossed it beside our BBQ grill that night thinking maybe we might need it, then tossed it as far as I could the next morning....
Then DW was reading how many people died of rabies waking up with them in their room and didn't realize they were bit...
The first shots the doc told us they did a big family the summer before, city people with a summer home, woke up covered in bats, didn't think anyone was bit but got the shots anyway.
We just got the bill this week from our ins, you wouldn't believe what they were charged, have to ask DW for the exact figures but it was over $30 grand, ridiculous. We were billed for way more than we can afford, public health said they pick up what ins doesn't cover, dang I sure hope they do.
Really hope your bat comes back negative.
