The Old Folks Home

I got on here earlier but my computer was acting weird. I could not type to post.

My first time making rabbit stew it is soooooo gooood! I thickened the broth and made biscuits to go in the gravy.

Looks and smells good Chicka, just hope no bitty rabbit paws stick up.

Had to go find it it is a song turns out from boy scouts
Little Bunny Foo Foo

Chorus:
Little bunny Foo Foo
Hopping through the forest
Scooping up the field mice
And bopping 'em on the head
And down came the Good Fairy
And she said
"Little bunny Foo Foo
I don't like you're attitude
Scooping up the field mice
And bopping 'em on the head"
I'll give you 3 chances.
Then I'll turn you into a goon!
The next day…
Chorus
Repeat two more verses with 2 and 1 chances

3. "I gave you two chances.
Now I'll turn you into a goon!"
(POOF!)
And the moral of the story is:
Hare today, goon tomorrow!

Where oh where has Alaskan gone? Has anyone heard from him? I hope he is okay. I just sent him a pm, he hasn't been on BYC for 12 days.

He is definitely AWOL

The turkey boys started to be jerks last night. I turned my back in the coop run and they came after me.

Well... the HGIC (Head Guinea in Charge) didn't like that very much, and ran up to the toms, jumped on their back and started biting and flapping. The toms freaked out, and started running. The guinea fell off and continued to chase the toms around the run.

I think I need more guineas.

YAY for attack guineas!!

If turkeys are such, well, turkeys, that they don't know better than to peck the hand that feeds them, at least they can learn to Fear the Guinea! Definitely, you need more guinea guardians.

I've been wondering about Alaskan, too. I hope this is something simple and stupid like a computer problem; Alaskan's presence is sorely missed.

Scg I agree with Bunnylady!
You may need to carry a stick and charge the toms and make them back up to show them you are the ALFA TOM!
I should specify that I never hit a turkey with a stick. I would herd them with it or pop it on the ground to make the sound showing them I meant business. They seemed to understand that. They won't argue with a good stick. lol
It does help. But I never turned my back on my turkey during mating season. The rest of the time mine were sweeties.
With the exception of the Sweetgrass I had. They were hatched and raised by a chicken and they would never let me touch them.
I finally sold the lot of them. They were just to wild for me.

Alaskan I probably busy on his thread. Hopefully not having problems from the earthquake they had.

I have a turkey stick and I'm not afraid to use it. They become major jerks in spring, but I'm not sure what's going on now. The older they get the meaner they get. I don't need 2 fifty pound toms coming after me. Funny how an 8 lb guinea showed them who was boss.
