The Old Folks Home

That reminds me of my Great Aunt Sudie. She was widowed but still lived alone on their cotton farm in Tulare California. One night (she must have been in her 90's) she was turning down her bed to go to sleep and out of the corner of her eye she caught a glimpse of her reflection in a window, screamed and fainted. Luckily her foreman was nearby and heard her scream, ran in and found her wedged between her bed and dresser. If it was not for him she may not have been able to get unstuck. We all laughed about it then but thinking back I am sure she was terrified.

All we can hope for is the day we do get in that spot
we can all be there and get out ourselves or have are blasted
cell phones to call for help

Do they make a rat size one?

Looks like the top is hinged. I don't know exactly how you would get them out for destruction if you aren't just going to rehome them elsewhere on your property (where they might just follow you back).

I think they do! Google it. Or call and ask a feed store if they have any.

A method I've used on more than one dog to teach it to bite softly: When they get a bit too rough, or clamp down too hard, grab their front paw, put it in their mouth, shut their mouth down on it with both hands, until you know they've bitten their paw enough to hurt. Do it quickly, then let go. They might yelp, and that's ok. Just do it once. Sometimes they don't realize how biting down hurts others. Normally, it doesn't take more than once for them to realize that clamping down hurts, but I had this one dog that it took twice before he learned the lesson.

Deb! Just read the rest of your post! My wordy girl. Be careful, and yes, get that area cleaned up..no more falling. I know the problems that can happen when you fall as an..ahem..older folk!

LOL I am sixty one this year.... After I got off line this AM I went to the store and bought some of those Big bags for bedding the kind you stuff full and vacuum out the air. Found out Home Depot carrys em for about half the cost. The offending Blanket is actually a comforter that is so HUGE that it doesnt fit in the Washing mashine. I have been shoving it from place to place. It needs to be washed. But I think I will throw it out. I brought it from home one winter.

It was a cheapo one and the stitching that keeps the batting in place has come loose. ever since I moved in here ten years ago every time I used some of Grandmas Bedding Sheets blankets pillowcases she would complain that she couldnt find this or that....

So I started buying my own. same goes for towels. As a plus sized person a regular bath towel is like using a hand towel to dry off. So I found a beach towel It was Awesome... it disappeared. I found it in a stash of towels she keeps for her bathroom. It took her four or five years to give me permission to use the closet in my bedroom.

I came here with the clothes on my back and a change.... ten years ago. the plan was to work at a job for three months then go back home. I still dont have a dresser .... I bought my own mattress even. I live out of laundry baskets.

I cant work on my bed room when she is awake because she is the kind that constantly askes me what I am doing when I will be done and makes suggesstions that I shouldnt let things "get so messy". I cant even tell her that I am going to do it... because she will constantly ask me when I am going to finish.
