The Old Folks Home

Yes very relaxing Penny and Microchick.

Micro sorry your not having any luck hunting. We don't have any deer come on our property. Probably due to the electric fencing for the cows. But they are all over the place around here we see them all the time coming or going anywhere.
I completely understand the need to control the number of critters eating your food! We have the same problem here! I told my dh to do something about the number of squirrels around here! They don't leave us anything!

Scg maybe your bf needs to scope out some new territory to hunt.

I know there are deer behind us. there is 200 acres of hunting land that is always leased and it's woods with a creek running through it. They might go through the feed lot next to us or across the property with the catfish ponds on the other side. But even my dh has never seen any on this place.

Thankfully I imagine we have not heard any gunshots around here
Riffe lake and Mayfield are owned by Tacoma light I believe both are man made with damns
but posted for no hunting

That's good.

Here I can never tell if there are gunshots because of the dang air cannon's the catfish farmers use to run off birds and ducks or anything else that is trying to eat their fish! One of them has that dang cannon going round the clock sometimes! He's on one side of our property and I can't sleep for the booming all night! I would like to show him where he can put that thing some nights. lol

Yup, chronic wasting disease. Kinda like 'mad cow disease' in deer. Devastating, transferable, can wipe out whole herds. I believe it started in farmed deer and then transferred to wild populations in some states. In the beginning of the outbreak NY banned feeding deer. They still sell the feed and feeders at TSC and some other stores here though. Where deer congregate in large numbers, feeders, suburbs where their population is way too many, more chances of it.
None here, but they'd like to keep it that way.
