Because I love pictures... here's some pictures from my trip:

The soap I made (lavender with lemon and poppy)

Cheddar (it's really Derby, but who is keeping track) and Romano [caption: wax on... wax off]:

On the way there my mom and I decided to take the scenic route. We got off the interstate and took route 60 through West Virginia. We found a bunch of stuff like this just on the side of the road. It was heaven.

The real reason I wanted to get off on route 60 was so I could see Babcock State Park. I had been there as a kid and I loved the place. It was different than I had remembered it, but no less beautiful.

Hope you enjoyed the photos from my trip. I missed you guys.

Welcome back SCG! Did the BF get rid of the Rats while you were gone?

Thanks for sharing the beautiful pics! So nice you and your mom had a great time together!
Welcome back!
SCG, how do you like blue andalusian's?

I have one and she's a hatchery (McMurray). She is the friendliest thing, ever. If you sit down (and have an empty lap) she will always come and jump up on your lap to be petted (I have a few that will do that and fight over my lap). She loves belly rubs.

She lays a decent quantity of small white eggs that are awesome for decorating because they're so cute (and usually perfect).

She's a bit of an escape artist - she spends most of her life free ranging.

That's my experience with an n of 1... not much experience but all of it positive.

You'll have to let us know how they act. I've not had psycho birds with my Mediterranean breeds, which is a common complaint. My leghorns were nothing but lovebugs, also. I am not sure I could recommend leghorns, though. They have all had major problems with bumblefoot and they have all died from internal laying, so far. It's really sad.

They will be chicks. I hope to give them their own pen. I also have some Buff Orp, Welsummer babies coming. I bought 4 brown leghorns. One passed early on. Two are roosters and I have one sweet little hen they are nearly 6 months old, One on the Brown Leghorn roosters I am going to keep. Just because he protects the hens and stops their fussing and it is his flock! And that says alot for him! I don't like the way the other one acts he is mean to my hens and my turkey so is is going to be sold with the last 3 BA roosters! The only reason I bought the leghorns was for the white eggs... But now I only have one?

SCG--were the leghorns egg layers, or breeder bred? THe better bred birds might have less of a problem I think.

Love the poppy seed bar of soap-- I like the sysmetry of the seeds thruout.

Ok question-- why is the wax red on cheese? I've only seen red wax or clear wax over cheese cloth??

Love the park-- in the first pic is the wall comprised of stacked cut stone??
