We actually made it up to +10 today!!! Back below zero now but hey, the wind laid down and the sun was shining so it was actually pretty nice cleaning the coop.
Should warm up more tomorrow before the snow moves in.

Thought I was getting sick while we were sitting in our lazy boys watching the Packers WIN until I looked at the thermostat to the furnace.
DH had it cranked up to 68o F !!!!! No wonder I was so hot! Geesh, he must be getting old.
Seems he had turned it up when the wind was howling. I asked him if I should turn it down now and he said "no, 68 is good". What?????
A couple years ago he would have had a fit if I left it up that high.
Good thing the furnace vent in the bedroom is on my side of the bed. I can sneak it closed when I go to bed otherwise I would never be able to sleep.

Those ladies have tons of ideas for everything scrappy. lol One lady just did a bunch of cosmetic bags from salvage and they were so cute. Another site I follow is quilt along with Pat Sloan she does the block of the month also but she gives you the patterns free. Pat also has webinars and guest's on everything from embroidery to what ever you can think of, some are free and some are not. I am trying to do a quilt for me for the first time. I am stumped on weather or not to do a boarder on the sides or not. lol
The pic above is one of the BOM of Pat Sloan's and the 1 1/2 in lavender strip on the side is pinned to see if I like it or not. But I am also going to do the binding and back in the same lavender so I probably won't leave this strip on the side. lol

And any time you have a quilt that you can't find a home for you can sure send it my way! <3
I was just bringing up the scrappy club because they have so many great ideas on how to use up all your fabric scraps and not all their projects are for charity. :)
I think it's great that you are making the pillow cases for the children at the Barbara Bush Hospital. :)

First one today just ended it was over the phone couldnt get pictel to work so my earrings and necklace and sweater were unappreciated.
Next one in 2o minutes. Hoping for pictel to work.
Getting tons of flak from my staff for not looking frumpy in scrubs. The panic was huge this morning when they thought I was interviewing to leave them.

Always nice to know you are REALLY REALLY wanted!
Glad you didn't end up with the suit. I can see it if it is required business attire for your job but for the occasional interview of potential hires?

Heck, if everyone dresses for the interviews in something not unlike what they wear to work every day, the potential hire gets to see the REAL people they may be working with.

Lol, I thought my husband was going to have a heart attack when I put on a nice sweater, skirt, tights and riding boots... I'm normally in jeans and a t-shirt or wife-beater

Um, OK, I'll bite. What is a wife-beater in the clothing sense??

We're only supposed to get an inch of snow tonight. My sister in Southern Maryland has about 4 inches so far, and her kids are ecstatic. We have a ton of ice here. The animals and humans can barely get traction. Central Maine Power was out today to deal with the limbs on our line from last weeks storm and the truck got stuck in my driveway. It made it most of the way up, then slid sideways into the snowbank and he couldn't get back out. I had 5 gallons of salt/sand mixture left which got him out, luckily. I then went to the town sand pile and it was completely stripped. I chatted with one guy there, explained there was a CMP guy stuck in my driveway. Turns out that guy also worked for CMP and helped me scrape enough off the ground to bring a bucket home.
Then I got up on the roof of the chicken coop to shovel what felt like 4,000 pounds of super compacted snow and ice off it. Our local meteorologist was letting us know that there was probably 80% of the allowable snow weight load on roofs and to get out there this weekend and get them shoveled off. I am glad I did it. It didn't look that high (maybe about 18 inches) but it sure was heavy.
I'm trying to finish quilting a crazy quilt for Crazy Neighbor Lady today. CMP had to turn the power off for a bit (so I did the roof). Waiting a bit to ensure they're done before getting my machine turned back on.

Sounds like you and CNL are getting along OK these days

I've got some fabric to make pillow cases for the kids at the Barbara Bush Hospital. I think once all my friends get tired of getting quilts I'll likely quilt for charity. I tried to give a quilt away a few years ago to my library for their auction but that didn't go so well. That might be why I just post "who wants it?" and wait for someone to say it's theirs.

I should get my snowman quilt done this weekend - it's already quilted just needs to be bound. I have another gift quilt cut out that I need to play with and figure out how I want it to look before sewing it together. I still have a few kits that are also on my list. I'm determined, DETERMINED, to sew through my stash this year and attempt to not buy more or start other projects that I don't already have the fabric for, or most of the fabric for (I will likely have to buy backing and/or borders). I know that's likely not going to happen, but I'm going to try my best. I tend to get suckered into the quilt a longs on fb. Leah Day has one right now that's a block a month that is flowers. I tend to not like BOMs that much because I can't finish them at my pace and the thought of a project dragging out a year really kills me. I might join in fall, buy the back patters and catch up for the end of the year.

Good thing you don't need to sleep SCG!!!

The vent in our bedroom stays closed, so does the door (maybe open a crack so the cats can come and go)
Wife says so.

Need a remote control plow? hahhaha I want one!

Now THAT would be nice!!!!!
