My doctor called me 'atypical for a 63 year old'. He knows me well, LOL. Atypical.... I like that term too. Fascinating is good also. Are you sure we aren't really twins and were separated at birth?

could be twins, by different mothersOf course I am 6 years older than you but, maybe you were overdue and I popped out early. I was 6 lbs.9 oz. no wonder I turned out small.![]()
Yes sir ree BoB I am Fascinating
Guess who got herself invited to the next meeting of the town Cemetery Committee?
I've requested of the town manager to "adopt" the 4 local cemeteries near me and start cleaning and minimal straightening work, for now, with eventual plans to begin preservation work like fixing broken stones and replacing bases.
I'm not sure exactly how this will go, the Cemetery Committee appears to be the only local committee that is "full" (and always is full) but I almost never see work done in our cemeteries besides grounds work. All done correctly and with survey work beforehand, pictures before and after and logs of what I've done.
I am going to come armed with a proposal for cost to start the cleaning and un-leaning process, plus an application for a MOCA workshop at one of the bigger cemeteries (just "cleaning and leaning").
If my town says no the sexton of one of the nearby towns says I can assist her on a volunteer basis.
Can't start the work until the ground thaws, so likely May/June timeframe, so I've got plenty of time. The meeting is in one week.
If only I can keep my freak flag from flying for an hour or so. At least until I get my permit.
That's awesome. Good luck!
You keep this up and I might actually get involved, I don't want to but it's crappy. Ticks me off, and I know it does others, but no one makes a move. So many in rough shape, excluding the outskirt one's, there's one in town, Pioneer cemetery, and they fight over who should mow it. We're so small here though there is no cemetery committee.
So..don't plan on pulling into the parking lot with Type O cranking? No 'Dead Again'? ...Lol! :-D
Good luck, a lot of lost history in cemeteries and I love history.
