The Old Folks Home

Dinner.... Dont ask me what it is but it was very tasty... FWIW I do NOT like cooked cauliflower

1 pound crimini mushrooms sliced
1 medium onion diced
3 pounds of Cauliflower
chopped into rice sized pieces Package came that way.
1 package onion soup mix
8 oz chicken tenders sliced
the same size as the mushroom slices
Butter
oil either olive or corn
Salt
Pepper
Garlic granulated
Tumeric

Saute onions and mushrooms till the
mushrooms start giving off their moisture
Salt and pepper and garlic powder to taste

in a stock pot sweat the cauliflower with butter
and a little water. Add in the soup mix and
a little water so you can stirr it all togehter
Salt and pepper and garlic to taste.
Then Toss in the pan full of mushrooms and onions
and the liquor into the cauliflower...

Add in Enough water to make it simmerable...
I am guessing the whole deal was appx 2 or 3 cups water total.
Oh and tumeric... appx one tablespoon. I kind
of spilled the container...

Simmer till you smell the Cauliflower. and it is very tender

Saute the chicken tender slices in the mushroom pan with butter... They cook quick so cook them
just before serving the cauliflower mushroom.... Soup? Ragou?

Salt and pepper and garlic and poultry seasoning for the chicken.
Serve a bowl of the Soup top 1/3 of the chicken, and a couple of slices of sourdough bread.

I ate a huge bowl of it...

Could it be allergies? The reason I ask is because I had my ear pop when we were picking up a truck box last fall and I had no idea my ear was plugged. Not long after I experienced vertigo out of the blue. DH had to come with me to do my chores. I guess my allergies were kicking me (I take allergy meds 24/7/365) so I switched it up to my allergy sinus medication that has a decongestant. Now I'm watching closer on things so I don't get vertigo again. I went to a specialist for allergy testing with the 100+ injections for several years. I learned from the testers more about allergy triggers but otherwise it was a waste of time for me. Allergies can present themselves in many ways. I soon as I moved here when I married (only 20 miles from my home) I was sick for several years...saw many doctors, specialists...got no diagnosis. I eventually got better on my own only to have one of the "inhalants" that I was injected with cause the exact same pain and issues I felt several years before. Bingo!

And I just went through the most awful shavings; sawdust and splinters is actually what it was and it was so dusty. Every time I went out to the chickies, my whole body but especially my skin would be in pain, not itchy or irritation but pain until I bathed. I finally realized it was from the dust. When I was a little girl, Grandma got a live Christmas tree. I can still remember waking up in the middle of the night screaming and crying in pain. I'm sure she was alarmed and didn't know what to do. The only thing that had changed was the Christmas tree and they chucked it outside right then and there. And then I was fine. They never tried a live tree again. What am I bedding with? Probably "pine" shavings.

If the shavings are course without the dust I seem to ok. This whole realization occurred to me the other night a 4am. I was already falling asleep here so when I went home I just crashed on the couch. And I woke up in pain. (But I wasn't crying or screaming this time.) And that's when it occurred to me it was the same pain. Life is weird.

Sound really good think I have to save this Thank you

I'll see if I can't get some new pictures of her tomorrow. I have a lot of distance pictures of her, but nothing that would really qualify as closeups. Like I said, she's always around when we are outside. I had to laugh at her today. Yesterday, I set my egg bucket down and turned around to lock the coop door, turned back around and there set Lucy by the bucket, holding an egg in her mouth and giving me her 'boo boo' look. I told her she could have it and she trotted off with her prize. Today I set the bucket down empty, she trotted over to it, looked in, couldn't find any eggs, looked at me, back in the bucket. I told her it was a slow egg day. You could tell she was disappointed. She's been such a sweet dog to have around. I just can't understand the evil in people's hearts that would mistreat a pup. Any animal for that matter. My vet at the time told me what she had been through was minor. He'd taken care of 8 week old pups with broken ribs from being kicked.

I wouldn't make a good vet....I'd put too many humans in the hospital.

I WILL BE HAPPY TO SEE THEM... sorry had the cap lock on

Well, someone posted about food and I try to make chili for Super Bowl Sunday. I'd show you what I was eating during the 1/2 time show, but I have no edit capability on the site right now, can't upload pics or do anything at all except basic typing. That includes using the full page editor... I had two huge chili dogs covered with chopped onion and shredded cheddar cheese. They were delish!
