The Old Folks Home

She just doesn't want to be allergic to peanut butter or catfish. Those are two things she ate the week the hives appeared. She had eaten both before with no effect, but who knows.
crap hope it is catfish

She loves catfish. Fried. She and I can finish off a huge platter of it. With lemon wedges to squeeze over it. I think she'd rather be allergic to peanut butter

I agree...

Be allergic to peanut butter.

Fried catfish is just so good!
I doubt that she is allergic to either.

Some recent studies say that exposure to peanut butter will make the allergy to it better.

If interested I could look it up. The current recommendation it to start giving babies peanut butter at an early age. In Australia peanut butter allergies are un heard of.

Basically the peanut allergy problem we have here is something that we made a thing. It is a First World problem.

She hadn't had a problem with any food allergies before, but then she got hives. They gave her benedryl and they would go away only to come back again and again. They were awful. They've had her on so many allergy meds since. Before they did the skin test we had to back her off of her allergy medicine and then her poor nose would run and her breathing would be awful and out would come the dreaded "puffer." She hates the taste of it. She never used to get sick when she was little. Now allergies are horrible for her.

Haven't been on in awhile, skipped tons. Phone broke and I haven't bothered to get a new one yet, figured a break from the net would be good. Now I'm bored on the old half broke laptop

Our DD #2 had those allergy test cause of the asthma, turned out she's not allergic to anything. Found out our nephew was allergic to cats when he was little while we were watching him. Never was bothered in houses with cats before but DW took him visiting up to gramma's and the kids run up to BIL's who had a litter of kittens, guess face to face handling the kittens set it off. Face swelled right up and scared the crap out of us, luckily her mom had some benadryl.
That peanut butter allergy is a tough one. We always fed our kids peanut butter young. Never gave it any thought, Guy I work with, his daughter if she even just uses the same knife someone used with peanut butter that was wiped clean to butter her bread it'll put her in anaphylactic shock.
