It's not the memory thing, it's the fatigue thing. We went shopping today. Left home about 9:30 this morning and rolled into the driveway at 3 and I need a nap!

It's very cool, especially having a 100 yr old Grammy. I never knew either of my grandmothers. My maternal died when my mom was 13 and the last time I saw my paternal grandmother was when I was 7 or 8, I've always envied people with grandparents that they were close to.

I only knew on grandmother she was my fathers mom. She lived into her mid 80's. My other grandmother died in her 50's from heart problems.
I cherished the time I had with my grandmother she passed when I was 12. Both of my grandfathers were gone before I was born.

My father's dad died before I was born. His mom outlived 3 husbands. My mom's dad died when I was 12. He loved watching boxing on tv. He was always throwing punches at the tv set. If you were smart you learned NOT to be near him when the TV was on.

That's so sweet but also kind of makes me sad. I still kind of miss my grandma even tho she passed over 40 years ago. I'm only in my 60's and the only living survivor of my generation or older in my entire family, siblings, parents and grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, all gone and have been since the early 90's as far as I know. I think I might still have a brother left out there somewhere but I don't know for sure. Family split apart when I was young and I lost track of him after dad died in 1989. Since the men in my family all died young from heart issues and he was the oldest, and wildest, it's unlikely he's still alive.
Always missed having "family".
My DH's people are ok, (but i;m the second wife) we have managed to avoid all the family gatherings we could over the years. His "family tree" is more like a bowl of granola.
( One of the many reasons we are up here instead closer to civilization)
