I've been outside all day. DH mowed the lawn which means tomorrow I need to run the push mower. GRRRRRR. Grass and dishes-the never ending headache....add dirty clothes to that list.

I spent most of the day out working in the pen, putting up small cell poultry wire over the bottom foot or so of chain link so the babies can't squeeze through if they take a notion. DH came out to help with the automatic door opener he has fashioned for me and made the announcement that it was a quagmire out there and it STANK! Well, ya'think? I told him he hadn't even seen it when it was really bad. It has the consistency of half dried adobe right now with deceptive areas that you swear are solid until you step on them and then Surprise! As for the smell, well, yes, they stink. They are chickens after all and don't worry, the smell will die down when everything dries out and it'll be gone by the time the flies arrive for the summer, LOL

Wickedchicken6, don't feel bad. When we were in the midst of closing down our business and home in IL we would make runs where we would hook up the trailer to the van, dash to IL, throw everything we could in the van and on the trailer, dash back to MO and unload everything into the shop that is attached to our house, rest a day and repeat. The shop finally looked like a pac man maze to the point where we had to pause to do construction, build closets and rooms to put thing into. We finally ran out of rooms to build so we started throwing totes up in the attic and when it filled up, out in the barn in the loft.

One of these days I'll unpack them......but not today.

I looked around today and said to myself, hmmmm, looks 100% different from the way it did when we first bought the place. Don't worry, you'll get there.

We unpacked many memories of the BF and James that where not allowed in the old house
as in she would have fits... it was not always that way they 15 years good then
I believe it was after the birth of James I am pretty certain she had post partem deppresion
never diagnosed that turned into terror then she decided to die and did

I started a Avocado tree from a pit as an experiment just to see if I could. Tada so far it's doing great.

I hope to keep it by moving it indoors during the winter or into the carport with the rabbits.

Good weekend morning everyone! (for those of you that "Saturday" still means something to other than it's time to clean the coop)

In the category of definitely TMI, I am sitting here on a beautiful Saturday morning instead of outside because I had a Colonoscopy yesterday that went well EXCEPT
that whatever was put in my mouth, in my arm, etc. while I was in dreamland I've had a "mild" reaction to. At first I just had a nice large sore spot on the end of my tongue like I had bitten it. Then I woke up this morning with my tongue feeling like I had just taken a bite of nice gooey pizza that was waaaay too hot and burnt my tongue. Got up and went into the bathroom to check things out and that's when I realized my tongue was about twice it's normal size and looked more like it belonged to a bovine instead of a homosapien so here I sit quietly playing on my computer.

Oh, and for those who are concerned, I considered it but, no, I did not call my doctor. #1 I figured if I were going to have a serious reaction I would have had it by now, and, #2 it's Saturday in the country which means the fancy doctor that did the procedure who comes from so far away( to the hospital that is only 40 miles away) that she (at least it was a she) only comes to our hospital once a month, is probably nowhere near anyplace where she could be reached which means I would probably be told to "come in NOW!" by whomever drew the short straw and got stuck answering the phone on a beautiful weekend, which would result in a 40 mile drive, an irritatingly long sit in the waiting room, only to be told by a doctor "you're ok, if you were going to have a serious reaction you would have had it by now, go home" another 40 mile drive back home and a beautiful day wasted.

There is a silver lining to this tho. This gives me a legitimate excuse which gets me out of having another trip to town on this beautiful Saturday morning to meet with my DH's two very adult daughters and grandchildren who had decided to drive up north far enough to have an early birthday luncheon with dad/grandpa. (first time in many years any of his children has decided to appear at least for dad's birthday that is).The reason I am particularly thrilled for an excuse to get out of this, altho the eldest daughter had finally decided to actually be nice to dad's "2nd wife" instead of just barely civil,I still get the very clear "vibe" that, even tho her dad and I are soon to celebrate our 23rd anniversary, I am still the interloper that had her dad remained unattached just a year or two longer he and mom would have surely gotten back together. (She somehow has never remembered that it was her mom that decided she needed "space" so decided to dispose of her hardworking, honest, dependable loyal husband and dad, for which I have been very grateful for these many years.) His sons were just "snarky" to me behind dad's back until after we were married then they decided they actually liked me when they realized I made a willing and pretty good deer camp cook, was not actually a girly girl and was actually country raised, loved the outdoors (their mom did not) and truly loved their dad. (pretty sure their acceptance fell in that order). We have since became good friends.Anyway, I am glad to surrender dad to the girls for the day and let them have him all to themselves.
