My chickies are here already!!! Well, not exactly here but they will be in the morning! The post office "hub" called to let me know they have them and we could come get them tonight if we wanted, however they are almost 2 hours to our south so that's almost 4 hours round trip with storms moving in again so we are going to wait for them to arrive at our post office early in the morning. Warm weather, it will still be only 36 to 40 hours since they hatched when I pick them up and the caller even let me hear them chirping away

Ooooh...I always like the spotted ones.
And they have the upright ears.
The ones at the barn had the darn ears hanging in their faces. My own hogs had the upright ears but they were plain white.
Grandparents had the Durocs and Hamps...such nasty sows. Grandpa was surprisingly agile when he'd come flying over the gate to save himself...lol.

Do you eat all or are some for others?

Today, I checked all the eggs that didn't hatch. Several quit very early, which I suspected when I candled at the 8 day point. The rest quit somewhere at the midway point. A couple of the eggs were not as clean as I would have liked, so it could have been bacteria. I really think it was that I put the eggs in the garage, instead of bringing them in, and it got too hot out there. I'm collecting more eggs now, and bringing them inside. I think I will also dip them in an Oxine solution, before setting them too.

Little peeps! I love little peeps. My littlest is now two weeks old and thriving. Hope and Faith, the two little pullets I bought to keep her company are little darlings. I think they are either OEGB or OEGB Dutch crosses. They are just so small for being 4-5 weeks old.

Tonight I switched the bantams back around. The best I can figure is that little Oliver overloaded himself suddenly having 28 hens to service and be in charge of. Is that even possible with a little rooster? My husband said at least he went with a big smile on his beak.

The boys were glad to see the girls back. I warned them to hit the ground running and don't look back.

I planted sugar pumpkins and butternut squash this year. Now we need rain. I've been watering every other day and all I can hear is Ka CHING and the spinning of the little gauges on the water meter.

Penny, I can well understand your feelings about Tramadol. Mine are the same. I would love to be able to not use it but don't see that happening as I won't undergo back surgery unless I'm paralysed or worse. I guess it is a love hate relationship. I really hate the drug but love not hurting and being able to sleep at night.

Penny, I can well understand your feelings about Tramadol. Mine are the same. they wanted to operate on my neck where my spine is closing not to save it just see what it looked like????? huh!!!~! NO I do love the new Lidocaine in Aspercream I have massive pain in lumbar and mid back where a bra would run thankfully I am not very endowed

I haven't tried that yet. My doctor worked on my neck also. I have been waking up with my fingers numb on my left hand. Seems as though my neck was out of alignment also. I think he worked more on it than he did my lower back. I have a scoliosis in my lower back and neck damage probably from a combination of an old auto accident along with my demented mother whipping me around by my pony tail when I had ultra long hair. Word of advice. If you have to be a caregiver to a loved one with either Alzheimer's disease or violent dementia, the first thing you do is cut your hair ultra short. I was very lucky to find one of the best DOs in the area who took extra training to learn how to manipulate joints and pressure points. I didn't hold much hope of it working when I first went to him but was willing to try anything at that point. I'm now a believer.

Same here with the Tramadol. Only I think Missouri is one of the states that is tracking the use of it so you cannot duplicate an RX through another doctor or pharmacy.

Big Brother is watching us, guys.
