The Old Folks Home

I haven't tried that yet. My doctor worked on my neck also. I have been waking up with my fingers numb on my left hand. Seems as though my neck was out of alignment also. I think he worked more on it than he did my lower back. I have a scoliosis in my lower back and neck damage probably from a combination of an old auto accident along with my demented mother whipping me around by my pony tail when I had ultra long hair. Word of advice. If you have to be a caregiver to a loved one with either Alzheimer's disease or violent dementia, the first thing you do is cut your hair ultra short. I was very lucky to find one of the best DOs in the area who took extra training to learn how to manipulate joints and pressure points. I didn't hold much hope of it working when I first went to him but was willing to try anything at that point. I'm now a believer.

Same here with the Tramadol. Only I think Missouri is one of the states that is tracking the use of it so you cannot duplicate an RX through another doctor or pharmacy.

Big Brother is watching us, guys.

Graves disease is nasty stuff. SIL has it. I have to be really desperate to agree to back surgery. My dad injured his back in the late 50s.They did one of the first disc removal/fusion surgeries on him in central IL and naturally they screwed it up. He lived the rest of his life in pain. He died in his sleep at the age of 96. Heck of a long time to live in pain.

Ooooh...I always like the spotted ones.:wee
And they have the upright ears.:clap
The ones at the barn had the darn ears hanging in their faces. My own hogs had the upright ears but they were plain white. :(
Grandparents had the Durocs and Hamps...such nasty sows. Grandpa was surprisingly agile when he'd come flying over the gate to save himself...lol.

Do you eat all or are some for others?:pop

Only one of the pigs is for me.

You will have lots of bacon! But I like ham better.View attachment 1041834

I'll have lots of ham, too. A couple chops, some roasts, some ribs.... mmmh

So tramadol got rescheduled by the feds a few years ago from a non-controlled substance to a controlled substance, because clearly it does have dependency issues. The prescription drug monitoring programs allows those of us who dispense to not dispense to people who doctor and pharmacy shop - which helps keep drugs out of your neighborhood. Yes, I don't like big brother watching, either, but the other way wasn't working. I've been in pharmacy a long time and have seen the rise of prescription opioids as a commodity to buy and sell because the supply flowed freely and was "safe" (ie you knew what was in it). I much prefer being able to check for issues and refuse to fill a prescription than have no reason not to fill it and suspect those drugs are making their way into my neighborhood.

Not a fan of 'big brother' myself, but wish they were on top of this a lot sooner, like at least a decade ago. I've personally witnessed it SCG, family/friends. Small town you hear stuff, witness stuff.
Always been someone(s) around that has scripts for any of the various opiates with more than they need, and for the $ the idiots were willing to spend....
That combined with doctors giving them out seemingly without thought, having more than one doctor, walk in clinic, emergency room visit, head to the next state that has pain clinics, plenty to use and sell, flowed freely.
Now that they're keeping a close eye on it the prices skyrocketed and it's cheaper to buy heroin.
Never saw heroin arrests in our area before, now it's becoming quite common.
Never saw or heard of meth around here either. Lately been quite common to hear of another meth lab bust.

Last year I kept my plants alive and producing by spraying every morning before the sun came up with potassium bicarbonate. This year my garden adviser suggested I use the epsom salts and compost tea spray alternating weekly.

Ron I will look into the copper sulfate because it has spread. Thanks, I do know it works. But will it stun my plants that are blooming and producing?

Not sure if copper sulfate is the same as the copper fungicide I use. I use it on the tomatoes to prevent late blight, was completely wiped out five yrs ago? I've used it on my grapes also, never noticed any adverse effects to it.
I really hacked the crap out of our grape vines this winter, like 75% pruned out. Last fw yrs we had no grapes ripen, turned black. I thought I was pruning and opening them up enough but they just grow so fast. Looking more into it , and my dad telling me I wasn't taking them back enough I cut a pile of vines out. Going to keep the weeds from growing up around them also this time. See what happens. Just started leafing out and already some grape bunches starting. I figured as much as I cut out it'd be next yr before grapes.
