The Old Folks Home

Picked up my chickies at 7:30 this morning. I think the postmaster was as excited when she called as I was! She was waiting for me when I got there to tell me she had already peeked and all the chicks looked good. That was an understatement! These are the healthiest, happiest, calmest shipped chicks I've ever gotten. They settled right down and started eating and drinking like little fluffy piggies as soon as I got them into the brooder. Within minutes they were chirping and trilling quietly and within the hour they were happily falling asleep standing up under the Brinsea or face first in the food dish. Markings, coloring, etc. will have to be judged later, but right now I am 100% sold on Hoover's Hatchery. I'll take lots of pics tomorrow but today, I just want them to relax, de-stress and do what chicks do best.

I just got a half batch of Hickory syrup done. I usually take longer to make some but I am having chicken for supper and I wanted some for my chicken. :drool

It's official! I've become a cranky old lady. My guests left this morning, and I was glad to see them go.

My MIL just left after being here for 3wks... I wanted to cry! :thShe's great & I love her, but I don't want anybody (who wasn't born here) staying for 3wks!!!

They delivered, and set up my new front load washer this morning. I love it! My old one broke, and the repairs were only a little less than a new one. It was 16 years old, so we decided it would be better to replace, than repair. I'm so glad we did. I did the research, and checked prices. Famous Tate had the model I wanted, and the best price.
