The Old Folks Home

Here we have so many critters making noise it's hard for me to tell what's what. lol
But I am over run with lizard's and frogs this year as well as ton's of birds so hopefully they will eat all the dang bug's! Very hot and humid here triple digits with 80-90% humidity. :th

Clue that is terrible. I hope your cousins place does not sink.
These sink holes are getting more common these days.
I would sell and move if it were me.
Pretty hard to sell when the neighborhood is sinking. Bet property values are in the gutter.

And will somebody PLEASE 'spain to me why they Amish don't finish their homes? Is it an individual community thing or what? Every Amish home I've been in, where people younger than we are live in the house, the house is never finished. No mop boards, no window sills, no finished corners on the dry wall. Just very crude, rough building and finishing. I've been in one home where it was finished and the owner was the father of the man we bought our property from.
.

I worked for the Amish in the mid 90's. I was only allowed in one house, many barns, but the houses were simple on the outside and were supposed to reflect their simplicity and lack of vanity. The grandparents house that I was invited into was finished simply, and spotless. The barns were all finished (to barn standards) but they weren't spotless.

Supposed to start pouring here around 2 - another day that I won't be able to work in the graveyard.

Oh well, back to sewing!

What are you whipping up now?

I'm always working on something. I have one quilt top finished that needs to be sandwiched and quilted, but I'm not ready for it, yet.

I finished up all my other projects that were started and not finished, so yesterday I went through my list of projects not started and picked something simple and fairly easy. I got about 2/3 done with putting the top together yesterday. Still have to stitch around the orange peels in the middle, then stitch it together and add borders and quilt and bind it.

It will be a table runner, if that's not obvious. I had been eyeing it for about a year, and it finally went on clearance and I picked it up. The directions/pattern is awful. Instead of starting with "cut X, Y and Z" it starts with "I like to do my applique with needle turn, blah blah blah" and about 3 paragraphs later she finally gets around to telling you the skeps go on 12.5 inch blocks.
