The Old Folks Home

I have a few humming birds not the top of the list as I am unable see them but the buzz real fast
Mine actually sit on the perches in front of the feeders, though i have seen claims that they do not perch to feed. DH tried to get pictures but they are so fast they zip away and leave you with an empty feeder to look at. Our feeder hangs by the back porch and we leave the doors open when it is not too hot. I sit on the sofa about ten feet from the feeder. Even when DH goes out to BBQ they visit and just check him out. Adorable creatures!

love our hummers. fun to watch them do their aerial dog fights over the feeders hanging on the back porch. Just have to be careful when on the porch tho. More than once I've had to duck!
We had one actually go right in the house when we lived on the ocean in Canada. I tried to catch it, ha ha, finally i opened the back door and shooed it out.

Thanks Chicki and Penny.

We have some hummers here but they eat the honeysuckle. I won't put up feeders.
I like to see them, though there are lots of flowering vines here for them i feed them any way.

Does anyone else feed hummingbirds? I put up a feeder after i saw one check out my red barn bird house. First we had a pair that came, now the news is out and we have hummingbird dog fights. I don't know how many there are, but you don't have to wait long to see one.
Yea I've got 7 that I can count. You're right, they spend so much time dive bombing each other I don't see how they ever find time to drink but I have to fill my feeder about every 4 days. I make the nectar myself.

Guess i should get off my butt and get dressed . DH is fixing doors so they open and close properly. Gotta feed the critters and do some work outside. Almost out of pills to stop my itching. Stupid drs office is closed fri, sat, and sunday. Why they never give enough refills is beyond me. They are sick of seeing me as it is.

Gonna buy one of the rent to own buildings to replace my main coop after two years the pvc is starting to fall into itself from the weight of the door frame
