The Old Folks Home

I know the Amish women are governed by ordnung rules regarding how they dress. How high or low their skirt hems can be, How 'finished' it is. They have to have a certain number of pins in their dresses. The Men can only have certain buttons on their clothes and the jacket length is strictly regulated. I wouldn't make a good Amish wife at all, lol. I've never been easily regulated.:lau

I'm always working on something. I have one quilt top finished that needs to be sandwiched and quilted, but I'm not ready for it, yet.

I finished up all my other projects that were started and not finished, so yesterday I went through my list of projects not started and picked something simple and fairly easy. I got about 2/3 done with putting the top together yesterday. Still have to stitch around the orange peels in the middle, then stitch it together and add borders and quilt and bind it.

It will be a table runner, if that's not obvious. I had been eyeing it for about a year, and it finally went on clearance and I picked it up. The directions/pattern is awful. Instead of starting with "cut X, Y and Z" it starts with "I like to do my applique with needle turn, blah blah blah" and about 3 paragraphs later she finally gets around to telling you the skeps go on 12.5 inch blocks.
Very nice! I will have to post a picture of the chicken quilt on my bed.

Document the work and set up a coop article!

I was a judge for the contest a couple of months ago. There will likely be another contest too.

Take pictures that show both the process and progress
Include plans, instructions and a materials list
Get a good finished coop picture without people in it
Oh boy, never thought of that! I could have done that with our recently finished coop expansion/remodel. Could have titled it "Two old fogies do bear proofing" :lau

Thanks Al. I am feeling a bit better this morning. Drinking a cup of coffee and so far so good. Thank the lord. I am so tried of being sick.
:hugs sick and tired of being sick and tired. Been there, not going back. Hope you start feeling A LOT better soon :love

Does anyone else feed hummingbirds? I put up a feeder after i saw one check out my red barn bird house. First we had a pair that came, now the news is out and we have hummingbird dog fights. I don't know how many there are, but you don't have to wait long to see one.

I have a few humming birds not the top of the list as I am unable see them but the buzz real fast.
We actually have had like 34 days no rain unheard of in Western Washington but coming off breaking a record set in 64 for most rain in winter and spring we deserve a break

love our hummers. fun to watch them do their aerial dog fights over the feeders hanging on the back porch. Just have to be careful when on the porch tho. More than once I've had to duck!
