The Old Folks Home

We just used sugar water 4 cups water 1 cup sugar up the sugar by 1/2 a cup in winter even put warm water in then
That's the formula we use as well except for the winter formula. Not necessary up here in the frozen toezen land. Smart little things head south long before the white stuff starts to fall.

oddly enough they never leave but our winters rarely to rough temp wise freezing almost unheard of at least long enough to kill the fleas please :bow

10am on a Sunday morning and I'm sitting here eating a 1/4 watermelon for breakfast between keyboard "hunt & pecks"... Already fed the animals then came in and replaced the sweat & dew soaked pants/T-shirt for my sleeping shorts. Another couple hours for the dew to evaporate then I'll be back out to spend the daylight mowing.

Did an oil/filter change on the lawn tractor last night coupled with new blades. Anxious to see how much better it cuts. The old blades were completely trashed... "burned through" and as sharp as an automobile leaf spring... (for those unfamiliar, that's basically flat edged).

Hope everyone has a great Sunday doing what ever it is that will make your Sunday great :D

We're on the hummingbird migration route, so get an assortment from Spring through Fall. The Anna, Ruby-throated and Black-chinned hummingbirds are fairly peaceable and share the feeders well. But when the Rufous migrate through -- Whoo Boy -- talk about aggressive! Little red devils!

Sunday here will be low-key, I hope. Need to water the yard. IF there's energy, I might contemplate a coop cleaning, but most likely I'll just take down the hollyhocks which are threatening to inundate the yard with seeds if left unattended. Someone described the hollyhock seed pods being shaped as "cheese wheels." LOVE that!

A Bunny has decided to live in the backyard. I do not know how it got there since we have neighbors on three sides and live in a City. I wonder if he is an escapee?

Cute little thing. I put some food out for it and it did manage to get some kale this morning when I have the hens a treat

Ls watermelon in the morning! It's good anytime for sure!

I need to clean out some of my grow bags in the garden and soak them in some soapy Clorox to disinfect them before planting my new tomatoes.
It stormed like crazy again last night and I have a flooded yard still. Boy's will have to wade ankle deep to get to the brooder to move it.
