The Old Folks Home

Aww it is cute Ron. lol it does look like a wild one though.
It is probably a California Brush Rabbit. They are found around here and it is the correct size, cottontail and ears. Weird that it is in my backyard!

It probably smelled your garden or chicken feed. lol
We have not had rabbits around her until we got our rabbits moved by the shed. Now we have wild rabbits running around. lol It's kind of neat. But they were eating my garden!

10am on a Sunday morning and I'm sitting here eating a 1/4 watermelon for breakfast between keyboard "hunt & pecks"... Already fed the animals then came in and replaced the sweat & dew soaked pants/T-shirt for my sleeping shorts. Another couple hours for the dew to evaporate then I'll be back out to spend the daylight mowing.

Did an oil/filter change on the lawn tractor last night coupled with new blades. Anxious to see how much better it cuts. The old blades were completely trashed... "burned through" and as sharp as an automobile leaf spring... (for those unfamiliar, that's basically flat edged).

Hope everyone has a great Sunday doing what ever it is that will make your Sunday great :D
I've found that I like to take a file and sharpen even the new blades I buy. They don't really have a sharp edge. At least not the ones I buy

We're on the hummingbird migration route, so get an assortment from Spring through Fall. The Anna, Ruby-throated and Black-chinned hummingbirds are fairly peaceable and share the feeders well. But when the Rufous migrate through -- Whoo Boy -- talk about aggressive! Little red devils!
I've only seen 3 or 4 ruby throated here in 25 years. Sure are pretty

The plum tree dropped a lot of plums too so maybe he was going after them too.

Did i show you the tortoise i found in our driveway? 20170706_150151.jpg

Ron there's no telling except it wanted something you had. lol
And that's a good thing. But hopefully it will stay clear of your chickens.
As some carry snuffles and that can be passed on to poultry from what I have read.

Aren't they fun Cap. And cool looking tortoise. He's an older one to.

love our hummers. fun to watch them do their aerial dog fights over the feeders hanging on the back porch. Just have to be careful when on the porch tho. More than once I've had to duck!
Hyperactive birds with sewing needles for beaks....

Oh mann they are a hoot. We get fly bys from ones heading either north or south but most live here year round.
