DH and I went to see Joe Bonamassa in Peoria on August 25. It was a fantastic concert. Tickets were pricey but we don't spend much in the way of entertainment other than an occasional concert or sporting event. Life is short, live it!
Bonamassa can sure play a guitar. Got a recording of him playing a huge festival in London I believe in 2010.

Thank you for coming over to help us. I lived in the Maryland/DC area at the time and was 4 miles from DC when it happened. I remember trying to get home that afternoon, most of the roads were blocked off and the military was there with giant guns on the open street corners. I had never seen anything like it in my life.

Relatives were begging those of us in the area to come home, but I stayed. My roommate left for a week. It was quiet and surreal.

I feel bad that the youth of today don't know a time without technology, nor a time without the fundamental "safety" precautions we have to prevent terrorism. I find it odd that after Ruby Ridge, Oklahoma City, Waco, etc we didn't see the big changes to our freedoms like we saw after 9/11. These attacks truly changed our nation.
Wow! You were in D.C.
I was out in the woods, on top of a mountain, cutting bluestone, wouldn't even known it happened but my partner's mom stopped up and told us. Went to her house, watched the second plane hit, regrouped and went back up to work. One thing I remember was how quiet it was when the saws were not running. It was quiet anyway when we were taking a break but all the sudden dead quiet... No planes or jets for days, was kinda eerie...
