The Old Folks Home

Cap, at least 2 of my grandkids qualify as "small kids". Yes, they can get on your nerves, quick. One thing that helps is planning a variety of things for them to do. Their attention spans are short, so a large variety of things to do, helps a lot. When I see a craft, glue sticks, felt squares, packages of plastic eyeballs, paintbrushes, yarn, etc. on sale, I try to get what I can afford. Dollar stores are a great source for some cheap items too. I do this on a steady basis. Everything gets stashed in a big bag in one of my closets. When it goes to rain, I can dig in the bag, and have a variety of rainy day activities for them.

Me too my BP exploded... figureatively... but at 189 over 100 needless to say my docs were looking like a deer in the headlights.... Kept asking me if I was having heart palpatations and looking at my legs...
listened at my heart and its just cranking away... swelling in my legs was the normal stuff...

So not they have me on meds to slow my heart down Meds to drain me of liquids meds to protect my kidneys... on top of Metformin and glimipeerid I dont know how its spelled.... and baby asprin.

Been on them a month my bp came down to 145 over 88 and the docs breathed a sigh of relief... considered it "managed" But then another two weeks and Bam my blood pressure went down to 122 over 71 or something like that.... I spent the last forty eight hours sleeping...

Its NEVER been that low.... and boy am I keeping track of it now...

Good job getting the pressure down!

I have been bad about checking mine so your post got me to check BP today. It was 133/83 which is high normal or pre hypertension. The current practice is to not treat blood pressure at this range but I need to watch it. Last time I checked it, the upper number was lower--in the 120s which was called ideal but the low number was about the same.

I was on BP medicine for awhile but the pressure would go too low and I fainted a couple of times. It turns out that I have White coat high blood pressure. If BP is normal at the Dr. office, it will be too low normally.

Yes, i have all kinds of stuff in boxes. Which are piled in the loft. Lots of boxes. Sigh. I don't have any where to sort them and have been keeping busy building this coop. Maybe we can go in the work shop and build a cage. The older ones might like it. I do have coloring books, and a card game for them. They like to pet the animals but most of the animals are outside. To go anywhere with them you need the van with all the car seats.
I am dealing with this sinus infection now even after 2 courses of anitbiotics and now steroids. I keep forgetting to take those pills because of the constant chaos and drama. With lack of sleep comes a headache. I feel gross. But i need to suck it up.

I am sorry about the sinus infection!
Do you have polyps?

I have to use allergy nose spray--currently the flonaise generic from costco--Or I wind up being very stuffy with bloody nose issues. I tried to stop last month but had to start using it again. I will try stopping in late october when the harvesting is over here in Woodland. Currently tomatoes are being harvested and canned here which stirs up a lot of dust!

No polyps, just recurrent sinus infections ,which lead to ear infections where fluid leaks out and tooth ache. For 2 YEARS! Why they can't clear it up, i have no idea.

Often times in children it has to do with tonsils and adnoids. I had very bad adnoids that caused me to go deaf. They were removed in the summer between 4th and 5th grade. The inner ear drained and the infection was gone! I still have a bit of hearing loss in my right ear though.

The swollen adnoids close off the Eustachian tubes causing fluid to build up and infection often follows. Might be something to look into. Sadly many Dr.s do not believe things like this cause problems in adults...
