The Old Folks Home

Often times in children it has to do with tonsils and adnoids. I had very bad adnoids that caused me to go deaf. They were removed in the summer between 4th and 5th grade. The inner ear drained and the infection was gone! I still have a bit of hearing loss in my right ear though.
I had my tonsils and adenoids out , so that is not the issue.
The swollen adnoids close off the Eustachian tubes causing fluid to build up and infection often follows. Might be something to look into. Sadly many Dr.s do not believe things like this cause problems in adults...

Ventured out for the first time, since the hurricane. Needed a couple things, so headed to the nearest grocery store. Yes, they had power, so I got the few items I needed. Devastation everywhere. Several roads closed with huge fallen trees across them. Very few yards that didn't have fallen, or snapped trees, or huge fallen branches. Still seeing serious flooding all around. Crews of men with chainsaws have been going through the area, cutting up the trees, and branches for a price. Most are cutting 4 foot pieces, and stacking them by the roads, for the county clean up crews to dispose of.

Driving back from the store, I spotted quite a bit of wood that was cut into smaller pieces, and stacked by the road. I turned around to make sure. Daughter, and I loaded the back of my truck full, came home to drop it off, then went back and got another truck load. It's all oak wood, it's all the correct size, and we got lots of it, so it's going to make plenty of cook fires when the weather cools.

Since I had all my chickens in the garage, I took advantage, and cleaned my coops, then sprayed really well for creepy crawlies. This evening, I got everyone but the juveniles, back in their coops. I would have returned them too, but it got too dark. I simply ran out of time. I'll tackle them in the morning. Everyone seemed really happy to be back in their home.

Good job getting the pressure down!

I have been bad about checking mine so your post got me to check BP today. It was 133/83 which is high normal or pre hypertension. The current practice is to not treat blood pressure at this range but I need to watch it. Last time I checked it, the upper number was lower--in the 120s which was called ideal but the low number was about the same.

I was on BP medicine for awhile but the pressure would go too low and I fainted a couple of times. It turns out that I have White coat high blood pressure. If BP is normal at the Dr. office, it will be too low normally.
I have White Coat big time.... it takes about half an hour to chill me out ....

No polyps, just recurrent sinus infections ,which lead to ear infections where fluid leaks out and tooth ache. For 2 YEARS! Why they can't clear it up, i have no idea.
I haven't had one in years! My husband is the one that usually gets them, and is in fact suffering with one now, possibly, probably because I just got over my first one in a long time like I said. Well, I got on that Levaquin, and I was doing better in 2 days. I told him he needs to go to the doc. He is usually pretty good about going. He thinks it's just a cold this time. Guess he can tell...he is doing the sneezing and coughing. :/ I did that for a while too. It all started with the two youngest that were here for a while as their home was being built. Both had the sniffles and a cough. Then our son that has been here for a while after sugery.. (spina bifida) .. man, he got it bad! That non stop cough. I thought, oh no. I usually get that..but this time, the sinus infection was the worst. Glad it's over. Now, if we just don't pass it back and forth. Or, if dad has something else he picked up elsewhere! We never know.

We're just so very grateful that you and yours are safe! Glad you got to get some things that you needed!

@getaclue - glad you got out and found some functionality returning. On the wood; hey, it's an ill wind that blows nobody any good, eh? I'm sure it was cut in those lengths with just the thought in mind that someone would be able to use it as firewood.

Some Irma first responders got an unexpected response on facebook:

I don't get it? Why were those guys cougar prey? Why not "same age" prey?

Is there something I am missing?

Lol, my favorite comment that they didn't post was "As if Florida wasn't wet enough..."

There was also a woman saying that her next vacation was going to be spent down there rolling through stop signs until she got pulled over by the entire night shift...
