The Old Folks Home

You are supposed to be able to determine temp by how fast they chirp.

I think @Beer can posted the formula once.
Old wives tale Lol! :lau

"Fahrenheit, count the number of chirps in 14 seconds, then add 40 to get the temperature.
Example: 30 chirps + 40 = 70° F
To convert cricket chirps to degrees Celsius, count the number of chirps in 25 seconds, divide by 3, then add 4 to get the temperature.
Example: 48 chirps /(divided by) 3 + 4 = 20° C"

'Old wives tales' I've found to be true, my dad swore by them, we lived and worked outside in the weather 24/7,
"If it rains before 7, quits by 11", always true in the summer, doesn't apply to spring and fall.
"Will not freeze till the swamps are full"
Every yr, no hard freeze till we get a lot of rain, swamps are full before the temp drops to below freezing, some winters have been mild here, not much rain, swamps not full, hard well bellow freezing, plenty of rain obviously swamps are full.
"Bullheads won't bite till peepers freeze three times"
Not sure on this one Lol, but I can say I've never caught bullheads till the weather is warm and the peepers have peeped many times Lol!

Because it is so beautiful, you have loads of beaches and winters are beautiful. The summers are hot, but actually cooler than TN summers! Plus low taxes.
