The Old Folks Home

Did up another ten qts of tomatoes last night. Making sauce with the squeezo strainer was so much easier but we like some just skinned for chilli and stews etc.
Still have some green ones, going to make a couple green tomato casseroles. If you haven't tried a green tomato casserole you really should, unbelievably delicious!

I'd LOVE to go shopping in Mexico.

Quit bragging about your 1.5 eggs a day, please. My elder flock is molting, eating a ton of food, and not producing any eggs. The slackers! I actually had to buy nasty, store bought eggs this week.
I have three naked necks molting right now as it gets cold hopefully they poof back up before the snow flies lol.

There are feathers all over from the guineas and they just hatched in July! That does not stop them from flying up on top of the run to make a racket. Lets not talk about snow, i am just trying to get used to the cool temperatures first. I bought a hat, gloves and thick socks yesterday.

We had a abnormally HOT Sept, shorts only and sweating profusely a week ago. I've been wearing sweats and a winter coat some last few days Lol!
Off to do some more trim painting, might have to get out the long ladder :hitfor second story window's. I don't think I can get it good with the long extension roller, probably end up dripping and smearing dark green down the side of the white lol.
Only two next to each other in front, one in back but I can get that one from another roof.
Pretty sure the window frames, trim and corner trim hasn't been painted in a hundred yrs, looks like it was milk paint.

Thank you, Latestarter, Ron and Chickadoodles. It was a daunting task... Give me three choices and it's easy. Give me 400 paint colors, 200 wall/floor tile selections, 60 granites and too many others things to select (tub style, hardware, porcelains) and, well, it's stress and second guessing all the way until the finished product. The first paint chosen was too dark on the wall, so it ended up doing the closets and laundry room. I wish the color in the After pics was better as the wall is "Fresco Cream" and here looks kind of grayish.

Now comes the daunting task of moving back into that half of the house. I may resurface again in a month. ;)

@Peep_Show Exciting and fun with the remodel, but wonderful to be finished!

Been thinking about it a lot lately. Don't have a lot of $$ to blow, but my favorite oldest daughter is not working anymore, stranded living with her aunt & having to deal with her mom, and her epilepsy is becoming less and less controlled with the meds she's on. She's too far away for me to be able to go get her for a visit (Maine), and with the animals, I can't take a prolonged road trip anyway.

So I did some pricing and just spent the $400 & bought her round trip airline tickets to come stay with me for 10 days over Thanksgiving. She won't be able to bring her little dog with her but her aunt will watch him for her. Seemed to really brighten her up measurably :wee Still 6 weeks to wait, but her having the itinerary/tickets to look at and fall back on should help her mood a lot. And of course I'm very happy and excited to have her coming as well :ya Will have another reason to give thanks on that day. :)
