The Old Folks Home

Peep you new bathroom is so beautiful.

Beer can would you mind sharing your recipe for green tomato casserole?

Ditto on the green tomato casserole. I think there's going to be an abundance of the non-red ones at the first frost.
A lot of recipes online, took awhile to find the one we used, been since last fall, just knew it had onion in it. It was this one except we add parmesan to the top, like it with saltines, can use ritz or bread crumbs. Ours ends up multi layer not two as in this recipe.
I should write it down but I'm more a remember some, dump and wing it
It's pretty much just slice up a bunch of green tomatoes (five, eight, depends on how big they are and how big you want it) into a one and a half to two quart or 9x13 casserole dish, thin to 1/4 inch, and dust with sugar (optional) layer with chopped onion, salt and pepper, garlic powder, cajun seasoning (optional) a couple cups of shredded sharp cheese sprinkle divided between layers (most recipes don't include the cheese but it's goood), ours has around four levels of maters I think, two or seven all good.
Top with a sleeve of saltine crackers (or ritz or bread crumbs)(couple cups) drizzle a stick (or less) of melted butter all over the top, we also add some grated parm last. Some add parm in the layers, most just put a few tabs of butter on top.
Bake 400 degrees for 45 minutes covered and then 15 more uncovered or until crispy on top

@Peep_Show Exciting and fun with the remodel, but wonderful to be finished!

milk paint huh? I sure would love paint that lasted even 20 years!!!!!!

:drool :bow
Where we have it inside it's bullet proof, sander barely touches it, paint stripper it laughs at. Pretty sure it is the same stuff outside but only on the wood not the masonite siding. A lot was missing bare wood but where it was stuck a scrapper didn't touch it even where it was shatter cracked, just painted over ..

My sentence structuring was scary.

Gryeyes didn't accept my friend request. Maybe I am scary.
'Friend requests' are funny, I've been ticked off a few times and refused some so maybe I've ticked off a few lol :lau
We have a rule if they are not family ,
if you couldn't recognize them walking by you in the store don't accept them as a 'friend'.
(I wouldn't recognize half of my family... lol)

SCG I think she refused because she wants a new life. I'm assuming she lost all/most of her birds and house - in the fire. And wants a clear break. Otherwise I think she would have come back to BYC.
Is that the one that swept up through between Taho and Auburn.... of course there were several fires besides that one then.

How devastating ....
