The Old Folks Home

Have not made the salt for sugar screw up yet, but i will probably get around to it. I need to sleep as well. Good night, chat buddies!
DW somehow put salt in my coffee one morning, took a few sips to realize, this just ain't right...lol

kicking back had roast beast potatos and carrots with gravy comfort food here tonight
Had venison pot roast tonight. Everything harvested from here. Potatoes, carrots, onions and venison, dang I didn't give it a thought but should have topped it with cabbage had a bunch of heads in the fridge...
Was awesome anyway. I don't know what they do to store bought carrots? Unbelievable how much more flavor homegrown has.

Made Haudenosaunee soup yesterday. Planning on going mostly a ' three sisters garden' next yr so figured I'd try out some.
Used homegrown dry northern beans, winter squash (I bought, don't want to touch mine yet lol) bought canned hominy (we've never ate it here so was iffy if anyone would like it) and venison.
Was pretty darn good. Like I said, none of us have tried hominy before.
Was pretty funny, oldest DD does not like beans, actually I don't think any of them do.
She wants me to next time I make ham and bean soup to make ham and hominy soup instead of beans ...
Huh?o_O

Just had a flash from the far past. Remember putting salt in the sugar bowl. I wasn't being bad just thought that it where it should go. My father sure let me have it for that!!
Ain't easy being a kid.
I think that is what DW did on accident? IDK? She doesn't like me sometimes so maybe the salt in my coffee ... wasn't a pleasant experience, especially since I probably drank half the cup before realizing 'this just ain't right'..lol.
Five kids she's probably at her wits end sometimes.
Kids told me one time she was making them ramen noodles and ripped open one of the spice packets and put it in the dishwasher :lau
In her defense we do get dishwasher detergent in a foil packet much like a ramen noodle packet, but the detergent is a solid block lol.
