spiffy

LOVE the palm tree er, I mean Pumpkin tree- that is so creative. I love everything about it, especially the little shells on the beach. Why couldn't I be clever instead of impossibly beautiful? Note, I said "impossibly."

:lau

and :hugs

you are beautiful by the way
..and I should know...I sure do talk to you enough. ;)

Got my sourdough starter reconstituted and fed thanks to @ronott1's sending me some of his starter. It's happily sitting on my microwave stand thinking about coming out of dormancy so today turned out pretty darned good in spite of the crappy start.

@getaclue, I love that banner. Thank you everyone. Y'know, after you have almost 20 birds die you would think you would get used to it. Well you don't. My husband keeps telling me I've chosen a heartbreaking hobby and he's right but hey! At least I'm not in front of the tv playing video games 24/7 and I'm too danged stubborn to give up so......

Apparently chickens are not as bad as sheep or goats, but my motto has been that chickens just die! They can find the oddest ways too die too.

I found a dead hen this week--looked like she broke her neck somehow. She had not signs of illness

Me too.:lau But I love it!

When we told our vet that our neighbor had given us 4 bred ewes in 09 when we bought our homestead, he just grinned at us and said. "You have sheep? Have you dug a hole yet because sheep just love to die!"

Two weeks later the caretaker informed us that two had died so yeah, been there done that got the t-shirt. We remembered what our vet had told us at that point and gave the surviving ewes back to our neighbor.

At least with chickens you don't have to dig as big a hole when they bite the big one.:thObviously, chickens just love to die also.

Sorry about your bird breaking it's neck. Did it fly into something @ronott1?
