What type of soil do you have? Do you add anything to the soil when you plant?
Trees you shouldn't have to add. I have about a acre down by the road with nothing but lawn, should've just put some goats down there...
Envisioned a fruit orchard. Planted every 25ft in a grid apples, pears, peaches, plums, cherries. Super wet in spring, soggy wet. Dry in summer. I've replanted a couple times. Some are still alive from the first planting but very little growth. Deer, blight, aphids, IDK.. Spent $$$ I should have just planted goats.

I have a bunch of trees from them, some have died, some have survived, not much growth from them last few yrs... though I haven't had much luck with any from many other sources.
I've heard Stark trees are pretty good, haven't tried them myself, I'm broke from spending $$$ on not so good.
Our blueberry bushes are growing bonkers though.

I've heard this from other people as well. One guy on a garden thread said he lives close enough to Burgess to shop their nursery and he likes their plants and trees. He said they have a lot of young employees that make mistakes. I will only buy trees locally from now on. I got our blueberry's local and they are thriving as well as the trees we bought from a hardware store. This spring I wawnt to get a satsuma from a local nursery. They get beautiful ones in. I found I can keep them in the carport over the winter. I know some mail order places do great but I'm tired of throwing my money away.
