The Old Folks Home

I asked at TSC if the had winter wheat seed. They looked at me like i was crazy. What? Is it too late to plant, sold out or what? Talk u idiots!
I wish they had Co-op here. There is a feed place in Danville that has more fancy clothes than feed. Yuck!
There should be winter wheat still. We sold our lower protein wheat...and are waiting to sell the high protein winter wheat. I hope not too soon though.

I'm feeding the wheat right now with the millet. And they BETTER have some left over from when it goes out. I've already been stating that I want some. It's over 13.5 protein. Sounds like I'm down to only 4-5 feet of millet in the bin now.

I already don't find it that fun to fill it...lol. However, since I can't remember from a minute ago if I've taken my pills if there are several things going on...I appreciate being on point with taking all my medication as I should be taking it. I know I've missed taking some of my Metformin because I have half a bottle left when it should be empty. At least this way I know I've taken it. I've only got 3 pills left to go tonight. :woot
Yeah, the days all blend together here. I try to always take mine when i eat breakfast. All of them down the hatch in the morning. It does help to have days of the week labelled. God help me, i am turning into my mother!

I was looking at different grain production in different states in 1996, why then, well that is what i got from Google. Any way it looked like they didn't produce any in VA that year. Strange. I don't know if i can still plant it or what if i get some. Not used to this growing zone.

Ours are rule breakers. The two within walking distance freeze.

If that's the case, when you open it the first time in freezing weather, water comes, then it no longer works after that point, the drainage at the bottom of the stand pipe isn't working properly as the water should drain out of the pipe at the bottom (below frost line) and if it doesn't, it will freeze in the pipe and effectively block it. If it simply doesn't work at all once freezing weather happens, my guess would be the supply line is not below frost line and the supply pipe is freezing.

I turn it on and nothing happens until I'm almost done running the hot. Sometimes the cold water comes out. Sometimes it doesn't. I'm going to check out that Youtube vid a ways back. It's never been the most quality tap.

It isn't froze...the water's just shy on that side I guess. :lau

:confused: The main water supply provides the water to the hot water heater as well as to the rest of the house's cold water faucets... If the hot water is working, but the cold doesn't, then there has to be pipe blockage. The fact that you say it starts to work after the hot water has been run for a while makes me think the heat from the hot water is expending the pipe allowing water past the blockage.

That would be a learning curve. Even when people talk about the different grasses and hays down there it's a learning point for me...lol. That's a good thing.:D

Well, yes and no. I still have peas, cabbage , cauliflower and carrots growing in the garden. Just like children, i tuck them into their beds every night and pull up the covers. Thank goodness they don't want a story as well! I think i am pretty much nuts!

The hydrants are likely quite a bit older than I am I would imagine. It's best to let sleeping dogs lie in this case. We don't use them in the winter anyways. The one is too close to the barn to dig up. And the barn has waterers for livestock already both inside and outside. Now just to convince Dh that the sheep should be moved here through the winter. It's not like the bulls are ever going to be kept here again. That ship has sailed. :p

In regards to the outside faucets, they are two completely separate lines. The cold will work when the hot faucet isn't used. It seems to be on a delay. It's more that the valve of the tap isn't working properly. Yet it must be. I require two pails of water for chores. The cold water may come on right away the first time. Then I may wait for half a minute for it to work a few minutes later. Through all the years we've had outdoor taps and replaced them; we've never had an issue like this one. And this tap is only 3 years old. :rant

I am glad we have hydrants, it makes life much easier! Still, i end up carrying water in the mule. Every time i get the hose over by the coop someone uses it for something else! But i don't have anywhere near the number of birds i used to so it is still pretty easy and i am building up muscles!

They have ice cubes coming out of their faucet lol. Think I've posted this here before, but I love this song, and tis the season
great song!

been ages since I have listened to that one. Always a good laugh. :wee

Good thing @Alaskan isn't the other half. You KNOW you would lose!
too true!!

I need to start using a pill case... I can never remember.

I have pill cases but half the time I fill a glass of water and drink it, entirely missing the pills sitting beside it. Despite being very careful to fill the right pills in the right compartment - when I actually go to take one, either I have two of a certain pill when it should be one, or have something missing. Plus I get carried away on the computer and
often go upstairs at 4-5-6 or even 7 am to realize I never took my Liptor at midnight.
:rant I hate when I do that.
