I just ate half a Pepperidge Farm layer cake, sacrificing myself so no one else will eat it and get all those bad carbs and stuff. Probably eat the rest of it after I take a nap.
I wish I had the patience to let it thaw out but, maybe it would vanish into thin air - predators of course.

It’s really hard not not scarf down those Pepperidge farms cakes. I’ll promise myself that I’ll just have a sliver. Then another, then another until it’s all gone.

@ronott1 I have a recipe for a chocolate butter cookie quite similar

sift together
3 c flour
1 1/2 tsp soda
1 tsp salt

stir over low heat
1 1/2 c brown sugar packed
3/4 c butter
2 tbsp water
1 12 oz nestle morsels
beat in 2 eggs, Stir in flour mixture chill 1 hour roll in
small 1 inch balls and put on a cookie sheet.
Baked on parchment or greased aluminum. Bake 350 8 to 10 minutes
makes 8 dozen Mrs. Verle Rademacher, Farmington, Minn.

Yesterday I did a hands on of the remaining standard birds. 5 hens are showing signs of weight loss. One has a funky crop probably from Marek's. Two have ocular Marek's and the other 2 are just too thin not to suspect, you guessed it, Marek's. Sigh.

DH gave 3 of them hits on 'kitty weed' this morning before I got up and they were still beating the dirt out of one another an hour later when I got up.

It's supposed to MELLOW them, not turn them into battle cats...

Man this thread really moves super fast some days...

Thank you. Spent a good part of the afternoon with the new snowthrower clearing out enough to be able to open gates and get around the chicken yard while DH cleared the driveway and shoveled more roofs.

Prayers sent @chickadoodles. Bless your daughter. I hope she finds the inner strength to do what she has to do and get as far away from the abusive relationship as she can.

Prayers here too. I hope you can find a way to get thru to her (or find someone who can) before it's too late.
