The Old Folks Home

Yeah, you want to get the best results you can for your efforts. I planted my stuff late so not much produce after the varmints chewed it. But i still have some veggies growing!
I need to work on the new garden spot!

I should start seeds in my window In January this year.

Getting excited for the days getting longer too!

Counting your sun rays before they've shone Ron?
Yes!
:weeIt is very exciting when the days get longer because the hens start laying more eggs! I am doing better than expected this year--I still have a dozen and a half eggs in the fridge. I hate buying store eggs

Well guys, I gave up, I was trying to catch up, but I was staying around 1,900 posts behind you guys AND BYC just kept dropping me in the middle of a page NOWHERE near where I was supposed to be when I would click on the "first unread" button... then I would have to go BACK like 5 pages to find where I had read last... so... I jumped up here and read the last few pages.

Anything major happen that I should know about?

Yes!

Me too! I have 2 dozen, some are close to 3 weeks old. I've getting enough for us plus 1/2 doz a week for my "customer". They always get the most recently laid since they are paying actual money and when I give 1/2 doz to my MIL she gets the oldest ones. She only hard boils them and the old ones SHOULD peel easier. DD2 said Cassie's (EE) are hard to peel so I don't pass those on.

hard boiled eggs get easier to peal as the hens age.

I always start getting excited about spring coming around the corner this time of year to.
I have no idea what I am going to grow this year. lol I'm sure I will find something that peaks my interest. I got a new FedCo seeds catalog in the mail the other day about organic gardening. I have not looked at yet. But I will be after Christmas. :celebrate

As the eggs age, not the hen as i understood.
The eggs change as the hen ages. The white gets less stiff for example. For me, the eggs from the older hens do not stick as much as eggs from younger hens.

I might be getting better at boiling eggs though
