Ripley. I love it. One of my favorite sayings is 'I'm sweating like Sigourney Weaver in an Alien Movie'

So the little face hugger toy is spot on for her.

I spent the afternoon working on heel protectors for our Cattle Dog. Slowly things are coming back to me. We used to use fleece heel protectors on boney prominences on people and the area's where he is breaking down is where his feet are resting on the ground so I'm cobbling a pair of protectors for him to see if it will help the problem. If it does, I'll get some better fleece and make a better pair.

Your a very good dog Momma your protectors may work only other option is to towel him me thinks in other words wrap towels around the sores then lightly vet wrap

Another idea that may, or may not work, but worth a try. Take an old T-shirt that smells like you, cut it, and wrap it, and tape it around the outside of whatever you're using to cover his sores. A friend did this with one of her dogs when it had surgery. The dog didn't want to chew off the piece of T-shirt with her smell on it. The area healed fine after that.

-30F wind chill here this morning brr, and the naked necks I see are all out of the coop and the giant's are all in their coop. Cracks me up how many times I hear people heating their coops. I have chickens with bare skin choosing to go outside lol.

NYC New Year's eve ball drop is going to be the coldest in over 50yrs.

I am.glad you keep raving on the naked necks... because I need to hear it.

It still blows my mind that the naked flesh doesnt just freeze.

Had a Christmas miracle of sorts. Kids no more than finished opening presents and DW got a call her oldest sister collapsed at work and was rushed to ER with a stroke. They didn't give her much of a chance at first and were taking her into surgery to remove a clot. Then came out and said no surgery was needed, paramedics gave her a blood clot busting drug and it dissolved just before the surgery. She's going to be OK, everything works somewhat, but her speech is confusing. Lucky it didn't happen at home or when she was driving, and lucky the paramedics knew what to do, all ours are volunteers.

scary.

Luckily the speech and paralysis problems can often correct with time.

Ripley is fantastic, same sleep posture as me. Except I don't go commando, too cold.

:lau good to know.

Cap, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!
