Yep agreed. Part of the problem is that he has gained weight from the prednisone treatment and his cart is now tight on him. DH is going to reweld it once the weather gets warmer and see if we can't get him to accept it.
I was able to get some 'callus type' protectors carved for him and so far so good with them vet wrapped over the wounds. I have a 'cone of shame' that may fit him. If necessary we can put it on him and leave the wounds open to air for a bit but I wouldn't think of leaving it on him 24/7. This is an extremely tough and stubborn dog by nature. I found one of his boots chewed up this morning. I'm sure he did it overnight. Didn't want it on any more so he made it go away. I'm sure he would do the same with an E collar.
