I notice the workshop progress is PROGRESSING unlike some goat sheds I could mention. Must be due to the person in charge of that project.

Actually, they came and poured concrete the other day and most of the wiring got done! I have light!

Kusnar I'm so sorry you furnace is broke. I know how high those power bills are! I've had to use them a lot!
When my first gas bill hit $400. I changed out my gas hot water tank for electric and used space heaters!
And it was still 200. Less per month!

Northerners did not need our big coat today, in fact the high was 49 and I did not wear a coat at all, just a short sleeve scrub top.

I left work 90 minutes early to take advantage of the January Thaw (it's over tonight) and got the whole chicken coop mucked out (without breaking my shovel this year since it was warm enough to totally thaw!) and replaced with new shavings as well as a passable job cleaning out the goat house before it got dark. I even did the nest boxes, because they've all been holing up in them during the day when it's been super cold. Yuck. The poor ducks got neglected since I ran out of time.

I only fell 3 times on the ice (I was wearing crampons).

Because I didn't plan this well, I had to buy the shavings at the farm supply store on the way home that the guineas do not like. They eventually went in for the evening after much complaining and panicking.

Lastly, BF had the day off (his weekend to work) so he took the dog to the vet. They don't know why she's itchy but that she scraped herself on her head and likely has an infection, so we need to give her antibiotics. They scraped it, no mites. No ear infection. He then took her to his mother's for a few hours where she got to play with two other dogs, and she has been snoring in front of the fire since before I got home, 3.5 hours ago, so I KNOW THAT DOG CAN HOLD HER BLADDER.
