The Old Folks Home

My last visit of that type was a sigmoidoscopy. No drugs because I had no one to drive me home. There were several VERY uncomfortable times, they use air pressure to open the colon. I guess the doctor wasn't used to concerning himself with how much pressure and how fast he progressed.

 Was it good fortune or planning that had the truck in a different place?
Good fortune, i parked it there to unload and couldn't be bothered to move it!

Makes me SOOOOOOOO glad I'm not living in upstate New York :wee.......sorry.

DH and I went for a walk back in the woods. The spring peepers are singing their brains out down at the creek but not a sound from the red winged blackbirds yet.

No big plans for the weekend. I did manage to get two wall panels cut for my rooster coop/tractor/transformation. Will get pictures for you tomorrow @CapricornFarm. Your coop building bug has bit me. That and I have to get those 4 boys in their own coop/pen at night. The alpha rooster is chasing them into the nesting box. I actually caught my Welsummer rooster sitting on two eggs. Dumb bird. They have been stomping around and breaking eggs so I was grateful for his consideration.

Walked the yard and found places where I can plant pumpkins and squash without too much trouble. Made plans to plant tomato plants and order some 'deck' corn from Burpees that grows in containers.

Need to work out my strawberry plants for spring. May be a challenge but hopefully doable.

Today has been a good day pain wise. What's that old saying? I feel so much better since I've given up hope or is it high expectations? Hmmm, anyway, plans are to finish up the rooster coop and figure out how to get it in the run. Work on the runs, turn eggs, feed the chicks and start taming them down. Mealworms....I need mealworms.....
It always feels good to get something done! Hubby cut up 2 of the 20 some odd trees that fell in the windstorm today!

Glad there was no 'serious' damage, just clean up nonsense.

We have a big old growth oak tree that fell down across our north parameter fence over the winter. It's our neighbor's tree but it landed against one of our old shag bark hickory trees that is dead so it is bridging the fence. Will be fun to bring down and clean up but man that is prime firewood.

You guys be careful cleaning up and those getting heavy snow please take care. That heavy snow causes more injuries and heart attacks than any other consistency.

chicka, that is wonderful!

BTW, I have internet, and tv now. Dh ran an electrical line out to our gatepost in preparation for the automatic gate opener. He cut the fiber optic line, so down went everything. We never use data on our phones, so I told him to grab his tablet if he needed internet. I have 4 hard drives filled with movies, and quite an extensive DVD collection, so I wasn't worried about having something to watch on tv. They came this morning, and fixed the problem. With fiber optic cable, you can't just splice a new piece in where it's cut. They have to align, and fuse the optical cable.

Tomorrow, they are going to deliver the dryer, and dishwasher. I'm getting all the dirty dishes done, and put away tonight. I'll have this dryer emptied out, so we can move it out of the way and the space will be ready for the new one. On the 8th, they will deliver, and install my new refrigerator, stove, and microwave.

We picked out new kitchen flooring, cabinets and a new sink today. Still need to go back tomorrow and add a few things for delivery on Monday.
Need to pick out paint still.
This old farm kitchen is finally getting a face lift. :wee
Post before and after pictures!

That is good news on the internet being back up!

It seems like many of us are getting appliances back or replaced. It must be the season LOL!

OHHHH, I told Tate Electric I wanted the boxes for the dryer and dishwasher. It's in the instructions, so we'll see. When we got the washing machine, they had already cut the box away. I have grandkids. They will LOVE those big boxes!

I remember those days! The Daughters loved appliance boxes.

Grand kids live to far away to enjoy stuff like that
