The Old Folks Home

some of that may come down to the shipper also the ones I bought off ebay she did not post them correctly so no scanner no careful treatment it costs more to send right way so may not all be post offices fault
No , she sent them priority 3 day, so should be 3 days or less. They just don't care if birds die!

That may be true but I seriously cannot get my head wrapped around a box sitting in the post office somewhere peeping away and NOBODY notices it? Shipping hatching eggs might be a little easier to overlook but chicks make noise. Doesn't one person care enough to say Hey! what's going with these chicks? I would be checking the shipping information and going out and buying them food and giving them a bowl of water if nothing else.

I think about those poor little things and want to cry.

They were juvenile quail, so no peeping. But when i picked up that box and heard no movement at all i wanted to puke! They never scanned the box at all, except at the originating post office and on delivery. So those quail could have went via California for all we know. Only 530 miles, heck i could have driven there by then. I felt like punching the guy when he said notify the hatchery with his shirt over his nose and mouth.

I think there need to be more regulations regarding shipping live creatures. They should have to feed and water them every 2 days. It is inhumane what they do.

I agree 100%. If they are going to agree to ship living animals in a reasonable amount of time they had better have a back up plan in place if there is a delay. If they cannot deliver the goods alive and well then they shouldn't be shipping them at all. UPS and FedX have the right idea. If you can't do the job don't accept the job

Too bad DHL doesn't do live deliveries. We have found them to be about the top of the line when it comes to delivering things fast.

I wonder why a news agency, like FOX or OAN doesn't run a story about this and the ineptitude of the USPS when it comes to handling animals. They jump all over stories about United Airlines killing dogs on their flights.

My friend used to order birds (one at a time) and the shippers used next day air at PO, it cost plenty. Should arrive by noon the next day. Of course they didn't. They sent seramas (only time she got 2) and they goofed them up and it took 3 days. One was in bad shape but came around. I was worried sick about them, and she just went to bed and let me get me all upset, I couldn't sleep.
