The Old Folks Home

That’s what I do, as well, diva. I’ll catch up on my sleep eventually, sleeping late into the afternoon. Doesn’t help that DH is working nights this week.
I'm just about going to bed now nearly 4 am. But I overcompensate by sleeping sometimes 12 hrs. or so during the day.

Visited my parents and brother and SIL.
It is good to be back and post again!

nh, beer and scg, hang in there the cold will be gone one of these days...weeks...months
clue and ron, love the foodie posts.:drool
LS and micro, I thought about you as we drove down the interstates near your areas. Nice weather, especially compared to ours.

Have a great Sunday everyone!

warmed up to 14 here this morning, boy those photos really make me long for nicer weather.

Just took the dog for a walk in it, with wet hair... not on purpose, had to get the dog back from the edge of the yard, so used her leash to do so, then got sucked into the walk.

12 now, low of 6, suns bright and warm though will be mid 30s latter. Almost hit 40 yesterday with the sun, cut a lot of wood getting to the end of the log pile. I should be able to finish it up and be done with it today, whether or not we run out before it warms up. Single digits next few nights :sick
IF we ever get up to spring temps the OWB burns hardly any wood then, but if we're out will just have to use electric heater or propane fireplace to take the chill off mornings. Can't wait till just chilly mornings.

Morning everyone!

I love the sunny pictures @NotAFarm. I woke up this morning, looked out the window and asked myself if the sun was never going to shine again. I think we are in day 3 or 4 of overcast, damp and borderline cold weather. Not quite spring not quite winter. Let's call it sprinter!

Not much going on here today. I have a rooster with a pretty good eye injury I'm keeping an eye on. DH looked at it for me and was worried that he was going to loose it due to a puncture. Silly roosters. So my job for the day is going to be pulling more boys out of the bantam pen which is not going to go over well with them. But hey, life's tough and it's better than being in a stew pot.

@CapricornFarm, I sure hope today is better for you than yesterday was. My big problem with the whole ordeal over and above the post office's royally cluster you know what is that the employee that handed the box over to you appears to be more upset over the smell of dead babies than the fact that the fact that they played a direct hand in their demise. No compassion at all. I hope you were able to find a playmate for that poor baby and I'm glad that the seller refunded your money for you. She will definitely be going after the PO for her loss but that won't bring the babies back.

This sure has put a bad taste in my mouth about ever ordering birds from a distance and expecting the PO to get them to me safe and sound.

Sorry about your birds Cap, crappy. Probably why some places do not ship, pickup only. May have been through it before, having to replace dead birds or refund. PO has a lot of birds go through their facility (millions maybe?), should have safeguards in place, training on dealing with live shipping, maybe they do IDK but if they do they sure ain't that good at it.
I've never ordered older birds but have never had a loss on chicks. Not sure how they are treated before they get to our local PO but when they get there I get a phone call immediately. I've been called at 7:30am and they don't open till 8, been called at 4pm to come get them and they close at 3.
