The Old Folks Home

Bc I have a Piggly Wiggly bag it's plastic. Is that what you want? If so I will send it to you. There was a Winn Dixie but they closed.

Reptiles are different, sea turtles lay their eggs in the sand. Can't possibly get very hot in there. I find references to incubating turtle and tortoise eggs at 80°F.

We had to go get some building materials for the kitchen today. And we stopped at the Piggly Wiggly in town on the way home to get some eggs. They cost us 5.35 plus tax for 5.89 for 18 eggs! I still can't get over that! We will never buy eggs in this town again!
That is $0.12/egg more than mine cost to produce and mine aren't battery cage eggs.

Not sales tax on not prepared food here.
No sales tax on non prepared food here either. Makes no sense to me to charge a 9% "rooms and meals" tax on a cooked chicken at the grocery store. Lots healthier than the untaxed sugar snack foods like Ho-ho's and Ring-Dings (neither of which I have ever purchased).

Good morning everyone and happy Saturday.

Didn't have a good night here at all, at least not until 4AM when I was finally able to get to sleep. My arthritis was rearing it's ugly head. Once I found a comfortable position to lay in and dozed off, the dogs woke me up squabbling over a bowl of kibble we forgot to pick up. Got them settled back down, got back to bed and to sleep storms woke me up with heavy rain and thunder. Doggo with DM hates storms so he was scooting himself all over the house knocking things over looking for a place to hide from the storms. DH got him settled down so I got to sleep around 4:30 and DH got up at 4:30 so it's going to be a long day.

It's still raining here and I think that is pretty much the forecast for the next 5 days. We had such a dry winter that we just sensed that we were going to get bombed with moisture at asome point in time.

@Beer can can I have worked my fair share of doubles. I hated it. IL had manditory overtime for nurses. You didn't have a choice. 30 minutes before your shift was up you would be told that you would be working a double. Not fun when you work second shift and suddenly you have to work 3rd with no nap and no sleep to fall back on. When I got nailed with it I'd tell them to find somebody else to work my next shift because I was in my 50s and too old to put up with only 8 hours of sleep in 48 hours. I did okay until about 3 AM then I was fighting sleep. I'd start my 6 AM med pass at 4:30 just to stay awake.

They wonder why there is a nursing shortage.

Nope, don't miss that at all.

Microchick -- I feel your pain... Literally! Hate that gnawing ache of arthritis. Hope you can find time for a nap to make up for last night's deficit.

We're having a slew of pretty 70-degree days out here in NM. The peaches and apricots are blooming and the apples are making like they're getting ready. Sadly, though, we're going to get a winter storm blast next week with snowy precip and nighttime freezes, so there goes this year's fruit crop.

My hens (FBCM and Cuckoo Bluebars) that hatched out at the end of October still haven't laid a thing, but they're all reddened up. Stewart Rooster (Stew the Roo) is doing his studly duties. Got some eggs in the incubator for the Easter HAL from other chicks from the same hatch that are residing in other flocks. Patience is a virtue which I am getting short on....especially since I have a standing order for chicks from my flock.

Sorry you had a bad night dear! I wanted to go to a swap but i am tired and its cold out there. Maybe next time. Going to put on long underwear before i go out. I hate being cold. And my knee braces. Plus a jacket or 2. Hoping to get some building done before the snow starts.
Glad i never had to work mandatory overtime, 12 hour shifts were bad enough.

Supposed to get some snow and rain today. Dog whined at me all morning, wasn't really able to get much done so I took her through the snowmobile trails down to the public boat landing which is a tad over 4 miles round trip. She's now happily snoring while I determine what I am going to do with my newfound freedom.
