My Great Grandma born in 1870s Was the midwive for a whole county in Colorado...

She knew alot about things.... She knew if there was a woman who was bleeding too much she would make her tea out of horse maneur... Dont gag.... its loaded with vitimine K which helps the body coagulate blood.

For a difficult birth shed have the mother sit in a chair..... Now adays they have birthing chairs ....

So I got a surprise this morning when I went out to milk and do chores. My final doe had a single kid early this morning. It's a doeling, & my kidding season is now over. I have 5 new boys, five new girls, and more than doubled the size of my herd. The baby hasn't nursed yet but was all cleaned off and mostly dry and momma was being very watchful. Once it's able to get to its feet, I'm sure it will nurse. I'll be watching over things for the remainder of the day.
