The Old Folks Home

I am sharing this from farmer connie! Seems good for this thread

Why they call it calamine lotion, i have no idea. Too runny for lotion!

There's actually a method to the madness so to speak... and different definitions of:
lotion, cream, ointment, paste and gel.

Lotion is generally oil in water or water in oil with a low enough viscocity (thickness) that it can be poured. Not so with creams (thicker than lotions) or ointment (usually petrolatum based and repels water and is pretty much semi-solid).

Thanks for consulting your pharmacist.

At this point I'm going to say it's just a case of norovirus (or similar). I stopped puking about 24 hours ago and the diarrhea is slowing. The rest of BF's family is starting to clear, as well, they have about a day lead on my symptoms.

I hydrated enough today that I actually had to pee (out the correct orifice).

If you've got something that's making your gi tract act violently generally you don't want to slow it down with medications, you just want to get it out. I took a fiber capsule to help bulk things up a bit and 2 doses of pepto to help absorb toxins, if present.

I was up in the middle of the night worshiping the porcelain god myself. Hit me out of nowhere. I thought at first I was having another drug reaction this time to Miralax that I take for my IBS but I'm not feeling all that perky this morning so I'm wondering if there isn't a GI bug around here also.

Nothing worse than heaving on an empty stomach.:sick

DH and I usually do that, SGC. Just let it run it's course as long as we don't dehydrate too badly. I used to do that and wind up in the ER having fluids pumped into me. Once bottomed out my Potassium level and went into contractures which was a horrible experience.

Yep, gotta agree. I'll deal with the Hershey Squirts any day of the week over trying to heave up my own insides.
