The Old Folks Home

Are the pumpkins and gourds from seeds i sent? I have a lousy memory.
Sure are. The plants are amazing. I've never had pumpkins and squash run like these have. When I venture out at 3 to check the bird's water I'll snap a few pictures.

I think I have a raccoon lurking about. Found both of my mouse traps sprung and the wired in bait gone. I had tripped the raccoon trap but it looked like something had reached in through the wire and tried to snare the dog food, turning over the tuna can it was in. Setting it tonight to see what happens.

It's only 89 here right now but the humidity is 70% so the heat index is 103. I'm just melted right now from working out in the coop all morning. My coop is recessed for want of better explanation. We had torn out the north wall of the old shed in order to move out a shower and move in a diesel oil tank. We built the wall for the coop behind the 500 gallon tank and left the north wall open so I have a nice enclosed porch of sorts that I can use for storage. I spent the morning cleaning that area out so I could set the raccoon trap inside the 'porch' area.

The AC feels really good right now.

do you have a pop up tent? for some shade in your wood working area?

We actually have our wood splitter in the barn. The barn is something like 44X44 feet square. Posts are set every 11 feet or so across running east and west and then there are two rows of support posts internal so the barn is laid out is squares-four across and three deep. We have the splitter in the center row section so DH can dump wood at either the east or west main sliding door and we can toss the wood into the southern most section to cure. With the south open to air and the two big doors open, we get a nice breeze going through and manage to stay fairly comfortable if not cool.

I set down for a minute on the sofa and the next thing I know, I'm flat out on my back snoring. DH just woke me up with news that it's getting ready to storm. I have clothes out drying on the line and that was motivation enough to wake up and haul hinney to get them taken down before they wound up in the next county.

It is so miserable hot and humid out that I'm not surprised to learn that it is storming. 87 degrees with humidity 77% and a heat index of 101. Well, at least it isn't 103 anymore!

Misty, don't be afraid to call the oncologist for any medications to help with the side effects, or changes to them that might be needed. Trust me, they have an arsenal at their disposal. The only trouble I had the last time, was with one medication that I had them change. It was for nausea. It worked fine for the nausea, but one of the major side effects, that they forgot to mention, that happens to about 45% of the people that take it, is it packs you up worse than cement. There are other options available, and we switched to something else.
Yes that just happened to hubby he was in so much pain had a CT scan thankfully it wasn't the peg tube but that came after the BM,long story the med was called prochlorerazine, maleate 10mg that & the chemo it self caused it but besides that hiccup so far smooth sailing the nurses there are amazing all the staff actually are I keep them posted on everything but I do appreciate the advice & support.Sorry you had to go through this crud :hugsI wish I could wake up and cancer no longer existed :fl

Can you rig lines in the barn? If I were hanging clothes outside Id have clothes lines setup in my Car port... Wind protection and protection from heat stroke.... LOL
