Too hot for life today
I cannot imagine the shock all the people not accustomed to this heat are going through. and its not even one I am used to.

Heat index so high from humidity.... Had never heard of it till I got on the draft horse threads... Commercial carriage businesses have to shut down.

Take Care SGC and all those out there who are suffering through this. Cotton clothing is a must loos fitting if possible... Hats and cover up....

Lay low in the hot part of the day chores in the morning and evening.... Keep shade close at hand Even if you have to work with an umbrella.

That's for sure!! Why don't the southerners keep their nasty weather to themselves? Why do they feel the need to share?? :p

Today I managed to open the barn, water the garden and change the oil in DW's car, she was over due several hundred miles. But she works 6 days a week so Sunday is the day.

DD2's is due soon, the maintenance light is staying on for a bit when she starts the car. That denotes "500 miles to oil change", then it will stay on. I MIGHT do it later just because the floor jack is already out. But it is supposed to still be 90 at 6 PM (when dinner should be happening. Maybe I'll just wait until later in the week when it "cools down", only supposed to be 91°F heat index on Friday. It is 101° today, supposed to be 104° tomorrow.

Very good advice!

even sitting still and watching a movie with a cup of ice i am sweating to death

Morning all .. Do you have air conditioning ? a fan that can blow over blocks of ice ?
We might break 70 today they say without showers off and on we are much more temperate here I feel for those in the heat I could not do it

I have to change the alternator on the honda and was working on it today. I stopped at 11--my nitrile gloves filled up with sweat and some got into my eyes. I made it through the breakdown, which is the hardest part on a car that has 125,000 miles on it and the Alternator is the original part. Things tend to get sticky at that age.
