Couple hundred posts+ behind. Finally on my day shift job, four tens, three days off, I bid on in December
Took a girl to do it (My job I had) two guys I trained quit, wussies.
Not used to getting up early ....

I STILL remember my last injection with a reusable needle... it sure was in need of a good sharpening

Army, '94, air shots were reusable and no needle, and they hurt, like a hammer and swelled up like big bee stings. And don't move, saw a few guys with big gashes on their arms, dummies. I heard they don't use them anymore.

I remember Polio vaccination and TB vaccination... ONe of them had to be stabbed into my arm about ten or twelve times... Dont remember which... I still have the scar from it.

My dad has one of those scars born in '54 much like Ron posted, but his you can see all the needle scars also, bout the size of a dime.

I did not have vaccines as a child Ma was single mother by the time I was there she was working two jobs just to get by she got a raise when she cold cocked the old man sperm bank drug him out the door.. but I did not have the normal vaccines when I was headed
over seas they said I needed to have some but that smallpox was not a worry

We were forced to get the measles vaccine when I was about 9 or 10? We could not go to school without it. There was a big epidemic then

My dad has one of those scars born in '54 much like Ron posted, but his you can see all the needle scars also, bout the size of a dime.

Mine is much smaller. I was born in 1960. I likely have a little bit of resistance still but not much. If Small pox comes back, we will all have to get the vaccine again.

Supposedly, smallpox has been eradicated worldwide. There are live samples of the virus in two places (yeah... keep believing that), the CDC in GA and some place in Russia. Only real problem with the above statement is that it has also been morphed into a bio weapon and there are who knows how many tons of the bio weapon virus in existence and located in numerous places waiting for use or an accident. If/when it gets out, the typical smallpox vaccine isn't gonna help anyone... Since any bio threat can spread worldwide in under 48 hours, and many don't even show signs till at least 72 hours, it's gonna be one real bad evolution for everyone.
